How hard is it to flip the mcpx? I can do it on the sim, but when i tried it in the yard the tail washed out and ended in a small tree. Think I was to hard on the sticks. Is the 450 easier to flip then the mcpx? I have both and learned on a BSR.
@BrucemanRc I do find the 450 easier to flip because I find it holds the tail a bit better; mainly because it has more power and it is belt driven rather than a motor driven tail. But it would be best to keep practicing on the mcpx because crashes usually cause little or no damage, whereas if you crash the 450, u'll need a major repair.
@BrucemanRc I had the same problem with my mcpx when I first started flipping it. They key I found is to not push the left stick down too far. You really only need it about 20% below half stick to make it hover inverted (yours may vary). If you throw it down too far (or too quickly), the tail will blow out. Good luck!
@earthling1984 i just got mine...are the blades supposed to be unbalanced because mine are slanted downward and when in Throttle hold they slant the other way.
Quality man more blade bendin fun and thank-you for uploading the vid i am now going 2 my model shop 2morro 2 get this i just checked their stock they have the V2 so roll on 2morro. You really are lucky having such a sweet indoor flying venue also
I just got this heli and it flies great before I could not do three dee with my e razor 250 and still cant because it stinks but I have crashed this heli multiple times and it still has not broken but I have the version 2.
@earthling1984 Sorry, nothing personal, didn't mean to bash your flying, just saying that the title is misleading. What you're doing (and I'm not better) is 3D. Advanced 3D is piro flips, piro funnels, etc., which CAN be done with the bone stock mcpx.
@SerbiHeli You had a valid point there. But are you sure that actual advanced 3D is possible? Because from what I've seen so far I really don't think the MCPX can do piroflips or even fast tic tocs properly at all. All I've seen are lazy rainbows (tic toc-ish move) and half piroflips with a pause in the middle to prevent the helicopter from bogging down too much.
Compared to my 250 size helicopter it's pretty miserable at doing the more advanced 3D actually. :)
@earthling1984 hey earthling i got a mcpx and i wanted to know if his is stock? because i cant get mine to do that and im pretty good with 3d if its not stock can you tell me the mods he put on it? or ask him if you dont know thanks.
@Oooa1227 It is able to do that stock....but if you want to make it fly a lot better, buy some solid carbon fiber rods same diameter as the tail boom and make the boom 1 inch larger! since the rod is solid tha tail motor cables will go around the boom...I did this and it changed a lot! tell me if you want me to send you some pics!
@SerbiHeli Maybe not ubber advanced. But it ain't easy to do nice slow controled backwards inverted circuits with a stock mcpX. Nice flying by the way.
Great flying ... I been flying on RealFlight 5.5 for a month or two now can do basic hovering, inverted flight so-so, loops, rolls, starting to learn reverse flight, can do tail down funnels so-so ... wondering how long it took you before it really all just clicked and you could control it while doing 3D without even thinking twice? BTW, I bought a Rave 450 FBL and then decided to get the mCP X V2 last night so I could get good at real flying before crashing the Rave.
@nivaldin yes I do, they are different copters. the mcpx is for indoors, or outdoors in no wind, and is good for minor to mid 3D stunts. The blade SR is for outdoors and is ok for minor 3D stunts. If you want a major large outdoor 3D heli, look into the blade 450.
@earthling1984 Thank you buddy, I was deciding wich one I would get, but Im thinking in get the Blade mCP X 2. It is smaller, but is 3D and I can do manouvers indoor, right?
@Themides4 the pitch of the blades can change from positive to negative, so you can have 'force' in either direction based on ur input on the transmitter.
Nice flying! How does it compare to flying the mcx? Since it's cp, it's probably more stable. Are parts compatible with the mcx (obviously not the main blades), but things like landing gear, boom, tail motor, etc.?
@pi3k the mcx is more stable, especially for the beginner. coaxials are stable due to their design. As for the mCPX, it is stable as long as the pilot can properly control it, which this is much harder than with the mCX. I don't think many, if any parts are compatible.
You should not have any movement on the gear. If you do, hold the hear steady while pushing down on the main shaft at the blade grips. Your problem sounds like you need to put 2 canopy grommets on the front to ball ends on the swash. There are also other fixes on you tube.
Please someone help :/ mine has had a couple of knocks and its still flys fine, apart from the fact that it shakes quite violently when at certain throttle level. It's gear hasnt dropped because I've had that problem where the gear ricochet's off the bearings when the rotor lifts. I figured that problem out. I think the feathering is ok but I'm not too knowledgable tbh. Any help would be most appreciated. Ty
Some great flying there. I think those links are the weakest part of the whole heli, but more than likely provide some protection for other parts in a crash. I"m waiting on Horizon to ship me my new parts for the recall then it's go time on my channel!
@mccaf2250 I set the pitch to 75% travel(like it said), but everything else I left standard. 100% throws, no expo. that's just how I like to fly. Everyone likes a different feel. I think you should set it up how the manual states first, then adjust to your liking from there.
This is for sure the most durable cp heli to date. One thing is guys in a medium/hard crash, the links that connect to the main blade grips pop off or go flying into space. They are very tiny and immpossible to find outdoors. Stock up on these. Great about those links they take alot off strees off the main head and servo rods. Eflite gives you a few extra links to start with. I would say this will be the cheapest cp heli to maintain if you don't wreck the 3 in 1 control unit that is $69.
Thanks for your quick posting;) Your videos always are amazing honest and interesting! Good job as always, keep us up to date on this new heli! Also are you in on the new pz rtf corsair?J..
Nice. That thing can really get moving and build up speed. Out of curiosity, when the lights/power went out, did anyone happen to have built in lights on their rc heli or plane? That would have really come in handy.
its almost like it locks out at full pitch and the tail goes nutts! ive messed with the angle on the tail blades and it has helped a little. what do you have you pitch set at? im thinkin going to 70-72 instead of 75
i have heard you can use dental floss to tie around the links so when they come off you wont lose them. Nice flying. I cant wait to get mine in a few months.
i just got mine today! i must say its very stable hoovering but it will move on you veryy fast in a small room. if you dont have the msr mastered you will deff have a harder time keeping it under control in a small spot. also for some reason my tail doesnt stick as well as your does, its like sometimes it does and then sometimes it doesnt. first flip i tried the tail just spun out of control and altho i got it back over it continued to spin out of control untill i killed the throttle. any ideas?
@bakonlicious you know what's crazy is the lights/power went out today inside the fieldhouse where we were flying. All the sudden, pitch black. All you heard was Crash, Bang, Pop, Boom - as planes and helis fell to the ground. Luckily nobody was hit/hurt, and it seemed most planes/helis that fell were fixable.
