@tinkerbrittany Pinto/Paint is just a colouration and has nothing to do with the breed. TWH can be Paints as well as Arabs and Saddlebreds.

@ThatSoJamie There is no difference. Paint and Pinto are different names for the same horse color. I believe that Indians would call the horse coloring, Pinto, which means spotted, or painted. So cowboys would call them Paints. Either name is exceptable.

Paint horses are Quarterhorse types, more muscular. Pintos typically, are Arab and Saddlebred types, lighter in muscle. Look at the horse at 1:55. This is a Paint Horse. At 2:01 is a Pinto. See the difference?

These are not all 'Paints' (with a capital 'P)'. The 1/2 Arabians may be Pintos (registered in the Pinto registry) and they're likely also registered as 1/2 Arabians.

Paints have Quarter Horse bloodlines and breed characteristics.

The Tobianos could never be Purebred Arabians or purebred Quarter Horses because they result from a dominant gene that has been screened from both breeds for many generations.

The Paint horse is usually a quarterhorse that may or may not have mustang mixed in. They are considered their own breed.

The one's I've known had very smooth comfortable gaits and were great on the trail as they didn't get spooked by wildlife.
