Well, I feel sorry for you. Not for the fact that you discovered Johnny (that is a wonderful thing!) but that you only discovered him from that movie. The majority of that movie is fiction and portrayed wrong.
I know the movie was fiction. I said its what got me on to him. He was from my mothers era. Since the movie I have watched programs on the real Johnny and love his music.
Johnny had such a wonderful relationship with his audience, what a great song to say "so long" at the end of the show. And still, we didn't want to let him go........

Nah, John didn't write it. This song is a Mark Knopfler original. It from the "Neck And Neck" cd from 1990.
