I agree with many other users that this tutorial is a good starting point. My advice to beginners would be: soak up all the knowledge you can and then practice, practice, practice! If you become quite skilled, maybe we'll even hire you ;)

@rino1096 U can slice it with photoshop, since version 3.0 you could I believe. You know where the slice tool is? Use a slice tool to slice your image. Then select each sliced image and save it for web.

The first website I designed was with tables. After that I realized I really needed to move away from them. It's a good place to start, but don't publish a website with them. CSS and DIV's are so much easier to manage, just have to learn a few extra steps. Good luck to everyone.
