  • As for the others who died, screw them!

  • "Yep, she did write this."

  • its either draining alcohol through toast or a happy land of rodents in feebie pajamas. thats it theres nothin in between.

  • 1:10 - What's Crow saying? "He can run...?"

  • @DDCecil Sounded like "He could run her circus." (Know what I mean? Wink wink, nudge nudge!)

  • @DDCecil Run in her circle

  • Poodle hair...

  • Joel is adorable.

  • I can't believe they missed a chance to have Frank push the button...

  • OMG! Dr. F, Teamed with TV's Frank AND Bobo! Madness super-colliding with awesome!

  • This episode was awesome!

    Kat

  • I wanna see Joel and Mike together in the theater.

  • "Lets play ring toss with your soul!" aw I love this show ^.^

  • So if Soultakers live on top of a hospital, wouldn't that mean that their job consists, essentially, of going down to the basement and grabbing the soul of somebody who's already incapacitated and dying? Jeez, I'd probably start DELIBERATELY creating scenarios like in this movie just to change things up for once.

  • Thank you for uploading this!

  • Wait, if heaven is a boiler room at the top of a hospital, then what's hell?

  • @htomsirveaux42 The basement with the furnace of the hospital.

  • @MisuzuK4M10 and purgatory would be the waiting rooms?

  • @htomsirveaux42 Ugh that would be the worst purgatory ever. Not old magazines!!

  • @htomsirveaux42

    The Billing Department.

  • 9:08 Of all the things for stingers, they used CREEPY MOM WATCHES DAUGHTER UNDRESS.

  • My opinion in the ongoing Joel vs. Mike Wars: Joel. Mike was awesome, a much better actor, certainly, and the show was much better from a technical standpoint, but it lost something when Joel left. And TV's Frank was a thousand times funnier than Brain Guy and Bobo. But just to reiterate: the entire run of the show kicks ass, and I love ALL these guys.

  • "...you seem dubious..." I love how flat Mike's delivery is of that line, plus the bots' entire diatribe that follows.

You know, for all the Joel/Mike comparisons I never really cared. Each brought their own flavour to the show and each was entertaining in their own way.

On the other hand this episode serves to remind us all how VASTLY superior the Clay/Frank dynamic was compared to the Bobo/Pearl/Observer years. Pearl's blase bitchiness can't touch Clay's maniacal glee.

  • @Capng123 i can't vote up this comment enough times. this is exactly correct.

  • "A plastic surgeon ready to fix your nose!" XD

This episode is gold. Would be platinum if Trace Beaulieu was there also.

  • "I call it 'Gas Taker' "

  • "You're beautiful."

    Yep, she wrote it.

  • grain alcohol strained thru toast - laughing my ass off throughout the whole movie!

    I love MST3K!!!!

  • The Sound Mixer also played "Reporter."

  • Comment removed

  • unfortunately it's CHRISTINE.

  • GASTAKER xD

  • "Joel Robinson? You're on my list... I'm going to steal your soul... when you have a minute."

    Fanboygasm.

  • Awesome, had no idea Joel & TV's Frank would be making a cameo when I started this episode.

  • I love Joel's response when the others ask to go with him. "No, I don't . . really . . . want to." I hope there weren't any ill feelings when he came back for this episode. I assume not by the fact that he was involved in the first place. It'd be nice to hear him on a RiffTrax episode.

  • Well Joel was more like a father to the robots. Mike on the other hand was more like a college friend! :D

  • @RockyBalboa211 yeah like I dont think Joel was as funny really.

  • I'm a joel fan! He always seemed hilariously high! :D

  • lets play ring toss...with your soul!

  • I am SO PUMPED for SummerFest 2011!!!!!

  • "I have a surprise too...I don't have a weiner." lol

  • @pinworms70 THATS WAT I SHOULD DO

  • @pinworms70 THATS WAT I SHOULD DO

  • Yeah cause if there's a perfect gift to give after you've been involved in a near fatal car accident, it's a car. Yay!

  • "Maybe we'll meet again in paradise."

"There is none! There's only a boiler room atop a hospital!"

"I parked in the emergency zone. Screw that stroke victim."

"And what do they do with that second chance? Souping up cars and going to Summerfest."

Oh and these are some of the best ending credit riffing they EVER did.

  • You know I bet the car is Joe Estevez

  • Despite some here saying it's okay-ish, this movie was a real stinker. A non-MST3K Manos would still be entertaining compared to the theatre release of this dogshit.

  • @pierstheoneandonly Watching a movie Frank and Dr. Forrester apologized for showing....without riffing...yikes...that's some real DEEP HURTING!

At least stuff was actually happening. The bots didn't go crazy and start sobbing like in "Manos". They didn't try to run off like in "Hobgoblins" either.

  • @SnjperWulf Their reactions to Castle of Fu Manchu was the worst, though. They couldn't even make it through the skits because they were sobbing so hard. I mean, yeah manos was bad but Fu Manchu was like...so...crap. At least with manos it sorta made sense what was going on and Torgo was hilarious. In Fu Manchu it's just a bunch of random Brittish guys, random guys wearing fez's and stock footage stolen from other movies.

  • Actor : "YOU'RE beautiful."

Crow : "She DID write this."

I know it's just a joke, but Crow's line is a bit of a stretch. I mean, just look at her.

  • I'd still rather watch this movie than 99 per cent of what's on TV right now. And I don't just mean the MST version, I mean this movie ITSELF.

  • Honestly, I don't know what they are so upset about. This is probably the best movie they've been subjected too. This one, while still bad, was like a day off compared to Manos, lol.

  • I call it gas taker. lol

  • Wait a minute, didn't them living ruin all of space and time? Did the the couple just throw the whole universe off? All is lost! ALL IS LOST!!!

  • "Yeah, unfortunately it's Christine." hahaha

  • Lmao @ 7:50

It's a green glo ring. You can even see the bubbles and mixture.

And why is the mother at the very end of this vid?

  • But haven’t they been unfettered by time and space for a thousand years? Shouldn’t the ship have broken down already? Can you say ‘plot hole?’

  • @GamaScythe

Ok, everyone, time for a sing-along. All together:

"Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show, I should really just re-lax."

  • @uruseiranma & @GamaScythe .... & remember the the ships over exposure to the rejuvenating powers of RADAR earlier, plus the all-explaining factor of having warped space and time by traveling through a worm hole a couple of times. :-)

I just found it nice that Crow instantly remembered Joel after a long time apart, but he could not remember Mike after reemerging from a state of pure energy. (Ep.801)

  • The disintegration of the happy ending of this film by Tom and Crow during the credits is one of my top 3 favorite moments in the MST3K films.

  • if they could have somehow contrived to get not only frank and joel into this ep, but dr. f. as well, i think my head might have exploded......heck, just seeing joel and mike together was enough to make my brain threaten to spontaneously combust....

"let's play ring toss with YOUR SOUL!!"

  • This is seriously one of my favorite episodes. Funny as hell, plus Joel came back!! :)

  • Wow.. Often the "bad movies" are still kind of enjoyable in their own right, especially the older ones, but this one really was a piece of boring long winded self serving tripe xD

Tom and Crow's epilogue is just awesome ^^

  • I saw this on tv a long time ago. This was odd.

  • @DSkehan2004 I saw it on TV, too! This movie freaked me out!

  • @Dulcimerist yeah, only i saw this just on sc fi, not MST3K. I've didn't know this was on this show

  • Joel = awesome, but the beard must go...

  • This movie faired well at the '92 saturn awards along with Term 2, silence of the lambs, etc...

Probably one of the best episodes of SCI FI time and one of the creepiest stingers at the end :0D

  • The Delusive Man ... Joe Estevez

  • You know, compared to most of the shit MST3K has to suffer through, this movie was really not that bad.

  • @YouSuckNoJutsu Sure, but I'd prefer pulling out my eyes through my nose while being covered in boiling vomit to most of the shit MST3K has to suffer through, so that's not saying much

  • did they just leave the wheelchair on the sidewalk?

  • I'm not really liking the MST3K credits music sounds so sad that it's over and all.

  • MST3K not only shows the way to riff on bad movies, but humanity in general. The answer to egotism, pride, greed, and violence? Joel, Mike, Tom, and Crow...and of course, Rowsdower.

  • grain alcohol through toast

  • man, this chick has a serious weasel face

  • Splash!

  • Push the button Frank.

  • I love the guest appearances from Joel and TV's Frank.

  • "Fortunately, it's Christine."

  • @joster285 unfortunately...not fortunately

  • So half the budget was spent on royalties for all that 80s music

  • hey. was their ever any episodes of this show in which those two, Mike and Joel ever DID see a movie together?

  • @hemanshera777 Never watched movie at same time together.

  • Goodbye Joel. I love you and I miss you.

  • i got a surprise for you, i don't have a weiner.

  • Ah yes, that was a good episode. And Mike will continue to stay with The Bots. Forever & ever.

  • It made a man out of me and just maybe it will make a man out of you! Wow, that is such BS coming from Joel. :D

  • Splaash! hahahaha

  • I riff on movies and tv shows all the time.

  • @OzzyFan87

The sad thing is on Rifftrax, they missed two great riffs to do. Here's the two in my mind:

    SW Episode 3:

Padme: Anakin, you're breaking my heart. You're going down a path I can't follow.

    Me: Yep, the psychopath!

    Star Trek (2009)

Computer voice: Ambassador Spock, you are on a collision course.

    Me: With wackiness!

(I mean, come on- how could they blow that one!?)

  • Amen, pinworms70

    MST3K RULES!!!

  • Unfortunately it's Christine.

  • ah, man... so bogus! Mike had been here 6 1/2 seasons and Joel was only there 4! wowee, and still told him to stick it out! nice... lol

  • This era was my favorite. Mike was better in my opinion. I love his comedy.

  • I agree. Joel was hilarious but Mike had better chemistry with Tom and Crow

  • Host Segment starts at 4:56.

  • Agreed, trapadoored! My cherry-popper was Prince of Space and I grew up with the SciFi era stuff, and it's still my favorite.

Someone else wrote on here Joel was like a father figure while Mike was more like a big brother. Mike wasn't dull, he's simply DRY compared to Joel.

I still laugh alot at the Joel episodes and see his appeal, but he felt more like a mediocre prop comic who stumbled onto a million-dollar idea.

    IMO.

  • @amcint01

Which doesn't explain why the host segments, especially in later episodes, are notably weaker than in the first five seasons - it gets increasingly and rather desperately silly, as opposed to being straightforwardly funny.

  • @textthing

yes but the riffing got much much funnier-and at least all the performers in the later host segments could act. As funny as they were, the earlier seasons were acted about as badly as the movies they riff on. And from his appearance in this episode it seems like Joel still isn't much of an actor. But he sure is a creative genius.

  • @trapadoored

I don't agree that the riffing became progressively funnier as time went on. I believe the share of weak episodes is about evenly split. And the attempts at comedy in the skits do become increasingly elaborate and betray a lack of real material rather than creativity. Pearl is painful most of the time she's on-screen.

  • @textthing Pearl isn't that bad. She isn't the best but not horrible.

  • I'm with Mike!

"Okay and there's nothing in between. There's either grain alcohol in back alleys or a happy world of rodents in feety pajamas."

    "...you guys need help."

  • Straining grain alcohol through burnt toast. Ha!

  • "The other side of the Mountain... OF CRAP!"

"A plastic surgeon, ready to fix your nose!"

"Yup, she did write this." [hell yeah, what's with all the self-congratulatory comments, screenwriter?]

"There is [no paradise]! It's only a boiler room at the top of a hospital!"

  • I was hoping for a "Push the button, Frank" for old times' sake. It would have made my day, but just seeing Joel Hodgson and Frank Conniff back on the show even for a mere matter of minutes was epic win.

    Great episode.

That being said, even though Joel and Mike subtly laid to rest the "who's the better host" debate, I think we're missing the larger, more important argument here.

Who was a better Crow? Trace or Bill?

I'll be in my bomb shelter if anyone needs me.

  • @Mibawls I like Bill-I like everything about the sci-fi channel era better than any other era-

but for me it's sort of like 3 different TV shows, the Sci Fi era is my fave tv show. The Mike Comedy central era is my second favorite tv show and the joel era is my third favorite tv show.

  • The hospital walls were painted that color to encourage the dying to just DIE already!

Why the hell else would they paint it that color? I mean, look at it, ugh..

  • Nice episode. It's always been a point of contention with fanboys over who was the better host. I like both of them, but I think the show really hit it's stride with Mike at the helm.

  • I wish it WAS Christine!

She would have run them over, giving this the best movie ending ever!

  • OMG. Servo and Crow's tirade during the credits made me cry.

  • Unfortunately it'd Christine! haha

  • So... they may be alive but the accident didn't ruin their bodies? They recovered immediately and their bones knit and their skin grafted itself?

I thought about the 'gift', that SURELY it wouldn't be a car... surely. That would be incredibly ridiculous. Wow. I had underestimated the movie until that point.... it sank to the ultimate low.

I have to admit, this is a VERY poor film! Even in comparison to other mst films!! Too bad - the storyline had a lot of potential. Boo.

  • yup, I would have never made it through the non mst version honestly, as someone else said "some mst3k movies have good concepts, but poor execution"

  • @ShadesofScorpius I'm embarrassed to admit it, but this time through, I *finally* got the movie's plot, or rather, I finally understand the background of Joe Estevez which had always confused me. Now, I've got it. Only took four or five times through the episode.

  • "It's beautiful!"

    "You're beautiful."

    "Yup, she did write this."

  • i wonder how joel feels about mike having his old job?

  • Joel was the one who wanted Mike to take his place.

  • yeah, joel wanted to go behind the camera, but it was awesome to see him in one again! and frank 2! awesome!

  • I still like Mike the best.

    : D

  • me 2 :)

  • Zach: "I have a surprise for you."

    Servo: "I don't have a wiener"

  • LOL

  • Joel got kinda fat.

  • That is BRILLIANT dark poetry during the credits!

  • I know! Let's play ring toss...with your soul!!!

  • i have to say that the story isn´t that bad

    but the actors are hilarious.

  • Whoever you are, behind Crow's voice, you were awsome!!!

  • Well, the original guy who did Crow was Trace Beaulieu, who also did Dr. Forrester. This Crow is done by Bill Corbett, who also does Brain Guy.

  • Often times, when I'm at a video store, I would come across an 80s movie or two, and wonder how worthy it would be to rent them; thanks to Joe and his two robotic friends there, they've saved me plenty of extra moolas for my beer party elsewhere...

Thank you so much, MST 3000, for your "movie reviews".

  • You sir are abusing what MST3K has given you...They have shown you the way to riff on bad movies and you watched...And laughed. Now MST3K is no more, YOU must carry on the torch. Go, right now, rent those bad 80's, 90's, heck even most of the new ones out today...Rent them, riff on them with your friends and rejoice! ...Now...GO!

  • @pinworms70

Heck I sometimes even riff movies that I like just to fill the void. :D

  • @pinworms70

I'm inspired every time I watch this ending-I'm gonna "keep em' flyin'" , "remember Joel" and most importantly of all, I'm gonna "get busy being a man!"

  • @pinworms70 You know what, your right. That comment has inspired me to watch an entire Pauly Shore movie, LIKE A MAN WOULD. No more give up halfway in terror and crying like a little boy. It will be countless riff after riff all the way through. Thank you sir.

  • @pinworms70 I allready am

  • @pinworms70 that is my mission in life. i only hope i can prove myself one-tenth as talented a riffer as these guys =`]

  • Who could go past *Final Justice* for MST genius.

    *Killin' Rules!*

  • I miss those guys. Tom Servo, Crow, wherever you guys are, I hope you

    come back someday. And Heaven

help us if the Walt Disney Company

    buys you.

  • I really doubt they will

  • Then, I got nothing to worry about.

  • yeah, i get nostalgic for MST3K all of the time...there's nothing even close on TV anymore...that's why I don't own one anymore

  • Man, Frank and Bobo are just hilarious.

  • I love how you can clearly see that Bobo's "Soul" was a glow stick.

  • this one. The Final Sacrifice was absolutely nothing but garbage.

  • i call it gas taker

  • Oh God. A question for the ages. I think I'll have to go with The Final Sacrifice. As great as this episode is, nothing will ever compare to Rowsdower.

As for which movie is actually better, I really can't decide.

  • Seriously. Good ole Rowsdower. Not to mention...Pipper!

I think Space Mutiny is a good runner up though.

  • Mitchell...Nuff said.

  • Man, no offense to the Bots but I was kinda distracted by the 80s love tune in the credits :)

  • That's like comparing cockroaches and dung-beetles, they're both disgusting crusty entities.

  • "Off to the Crowbar Motel for Mike's little pal..."

  • I was hoping for Joel to sit through the movie with Mike and the bots. That would've been great

  • I can't help but wonder which two innocent people have to die in order to take the place of those two twits.

  • John Hughes and Farrah Fawcett?

  • I'm gonna paint it red later and it'll repair itself!

  • I thought the car was Joel Esteves.

  • They should have called this movie "Soulbreaker". It's that bad

  • ZING!

  • Oh Z'no!

    Bustaker.

  • Long live to MST3K and all it's incarnations!!!

    Joel rules!!!

    Mike rules!!!

    Servo rules!!!

    Crooooooow rules!!!

You named, he/she/it rules!!! (except for Viacom...)

  • joel + mike is the best thing ever. it would have been cool to see them do a season or two together.

  • Mike should do a RiffTrax movie with Joel guest-riffing.

He already had Mary Jo Pehl riff with him, so why not Joel.

  • Mke called Joel to do a rifftrax-but it was like the day before Joel was starting cinematic titanic so it didn't really work out. They should still have a team up though.

  • maybe we will meet in heaven

there is no heaven, just a boiler room in a hospital

  • GOD, that is the CREEPIEST stinger ever.

  • "It's beautiful!"

    "No, YOU'RE beautiful."

    "Yep, she did write this."

  • Hey look at that dude's head! Like how can you watch this movie and not comment on the size of his head every single time.. like.. his poor mother!!

    <
