  • I acctualy never get probs with iPhone 4

  • Iphone 4 s, also got fed up with problems with signal, took it back to the store, and im now on android galaxy s+ not looked back

  • try to restore the iphone 4s...it worked for me

  • Mine had bad battery like yours when i got it

but after the update it got MUCH better so it´s fine now

  • My 4S gets full signal on EDGE and sometimes wont connect to websites.

  • When I first got my 4S I had no problems with battery life until I updated as well but after researching the issue I found that a factory restore after update helped a little but not much. Finally I realized that my Skype was set to always be on-line and once i turned that off man did I start getting amazing results!! Now I can go a whole day and a half with moderate usage without having to charge.

  • The only issue I've had with my 4S is it seems to get very hot sometimes. And I don't mean just warm, I mean HOT like the processor is overheating hot. And when this happens the phone has just been sitting in my pocket. Its happened twice now and I'm trying to find something online to see if thats an issue with others as well.

  • Xperia arc doesnt have 3g

  • @malaivaiP yes it does :L you dumbass

  • well anyway Apple soon gonna release iPhone 5 but the battery issue still not solve again, i might just get iPAD 3 n the phone i would like to get WP8 ermmm did anyone know Sony Ericsson gonna release Xperia NOZOMi aka Xperia CLoud 1.5GHZ Dual-Core with 12MP ^_^

  • did you get any of the issues fixed? Thats too crazy not to complain to apple or tMobile about it because I have not had any of those problems, I think sometimes some people just get a bad device. I have had to have some things replaced here and there, but then they are fine.

  • Th iPhone 4s also has the worst issue with over heating

  • I just realized I can put an at&t sim card in my sprint iPhone 4s o.O

  • I love having a phone that I can carry aa spare battery around and just switch it out when it gets low.

  • I would never buy an iphone.......its tooo expensive and just not worth it ......but i would like to try out the lumia.800

  • switch to the lumia 800 :]

  • You noticed the overheating?

  • iPhone 4 worse

  • I totally agree. I just try to text and make calls only because that the whole point of the phone.

  • I agree with you very much!

  • I very much agree!

  • I agree with you Dave!

  • hey try taking it to apple tell them your probs then they will say its the os thing and they will fix it

  • You should go with Three. They are the best now for 3G coverage and is so useful for tech peeps.

  • go 2 settings>general>reset & click "reset location warnings". this will allow all apps previously running on older software 2 adjust 2 ios 5. u may also want 2 disable sending diagnostic automatically. settings>general> about> diagnotics & usage> check "dont send".

  • Hi Dave! Well I would suggest just getting a iPhone 4 and updating it to ios5. My white iPhone 4 on os5 is great and I am on the same networks as you(orange and tmobile). I have had no problems at all. Interesting video!

  • Thinking about getting the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?

  • calibrate the battery. t-mobile is rubbish. i'm on o2. was with t-mob and no reception. weak. run the battery all the way down. then recharge up 8 hours even when it says its full. yes it gets hot. but mine is at the top near the camera.

    iphone4s 16gb (only really got 13gb)

  • I'm not sure about the UK but T Mobile is the worst in Los Angeles.

  • You battery problem could be because you have been charging it when it is no completely flat, if you partially charge it or top it up half way through all rechargeable batteries develop a memory & will then not hold a full charge, try completely running down the battery & recharging it again, you will need to do this several times,

  • I think that it may be a faulty handset or it is the iPhone 4S in the UK as I am having a iPhone 4S in Singapore and my signal strength is just on 3G all the time, battery life good from start till now ( before and after the update ) and heat issues only if I am playing intensive games.

  • Dave... for goodness sake.... The iPhone 4S is still a new product. Give it time, Apple will post more software updates which will help to address these issues. When the iPhone 4 came out, people criticised it for bad signal strength.... over time apple released software updates to fix the issue and we all found out that it wash;t just the iPhone 4 which suffered from this kind of problem. Give it time and Apple will help to improve the experience. Also my iPhone 4S has no signal issues...

  • Please, tell me if you have the ,,yellow screen problem'' , cause i want to buy this phone and i heard a lot of problems, of this device, so...

  • it was a minor update, the next update will major battery fix. Atleast thats what the rumor is.never had problems with service or wifi, i live in us though

  • You accidentally said "iPhone 4" at the start xD

  • @TheMessanger61 Thanks for watching.

  • what would be a better buy among the following two phones ,Samsung Galaxy y S5360 vs ZTE blade , they are priced the same in india.Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • the battery must be faulty try getting a new battery

  • @markybyeah maybe.

  • Switching back to that Blackberry Dakota you got a while back?

  • @TheJaredism Nope, that is long gone.

  • Can I have It?

  • @MrDjstrauz errrr no :) thanks for asking though ;)

  • Get Samsung galaxy sii

  • @thetechguy4711 Not for me, great phone though.

  • There will be update (5.0.2) by thursday next week to sort out both of those problems.

  • @nigeld2005 I hope so.

  • Go to an apple store and ask them whether something might be faulty on your iPhone :)

  • @TheDeeb97 I have gone through tech support, no help or solution yet.

  • I can only look for businesses, maps, traffic and battery life issues in the United States, and when you're using U.S. English.

  • @feckingbillgates That is bad, shame they limited it at launch.

  • I haven't been experiencing any problems with my iPhone 4S, yet.

  • @pinhead9810k good, that is good to hear.

  • I was disappointed when i didn't see you in a car :P

  • @baldwin471 lol, toooooo cold out there.

  • I really think you're the only one having that amount of bugs

instead of ditching it, you gotta give it the benefice of the doubt and try another one

cause i'm fine with mine and i only have a 5 mega bytes wifi connection

  • @meknassi666 thanks for watching.

  • Everytime they release an Iphone there are major flaws, yet people still go crazy for them. I dont understand it. Sure they look nice but if they fail like this in one way or another why bother with them? My friends wildfire S that cost £140 can actually do more than the Iphone.

  • @LeeGee1983 Thanks for watching & commenting.

  • Let me make a suggestion...There are better phones on the market ^_^

  • @LeeGee1983 Well said :)

  • Finally address the battery issues. Plus 5.2 out at end of year with Siri enhancements.

  • @redhillmedia Let us see what they do.

  • DITCH IT!! Galaxy nexus just around the corner :D

  • @Far00q1 Tell me about it, so many choices now.

  • Dave. Very good points. Rumours are around that Apple is releasing another update next week. - 5.0.2 will fi

  • @redhillmedia I hope so.

  • My problems started with the latest update, my battery life isnt as bad as yours but i do see a difference, my wifi is often connecting but not displaying the wifi icon at the top, the handset is warming up exactly as you decribed, id b happy if they got it fixed, no need for a new phone, couldnt really compare to the phone this is ment to be...

  • @gmcauley Thanks for commenting.

  • Yeah Dave ...ditch the iPhone4s...don't let the door hit you on the way out....

  • @fijimanfiji ;)

  • Hardware wise it's always seemed a bit of a turkey to me, just not enough innovation when the wider market has moved on. The only real game-changer is Siri, which is software, which would probably work ok on the iPhone 4, but they cant do that, they need it to drive 4S sales.

That said, i'll still get it, i'm due an upgrade and i've got too much invested in apps to go to Android. Hopefully the 5 will be better.

  • @TheAegisClaw Great comment, thanks for sharing.

  • Hmm, i just hope they freaking fix the battery problem with the next update this time! Normally i'm not frustrated with Apple but in this case i am!

  • @AmitLal92 They are slipping with the quality control lately.

  • mine phone worked before update now i feel like blowing up apple hq

  • @TheScottIs20 Oh no, you have same or similar issues?

  • Comment removed

  • I really enjoy the geek vlogz. keep at it dave great work!

  • @9v0lkan Will do :)

  • It pains me to hear these words coming from you but it's a problem, there's no ignoring it. I can't really comment on my phone since it's not a 4S but I hope the problem gets fixed! Sorry Dave

  • @Applicabledave Thanks for watching and commenting :)

  • No overheating issues so far although I did an experiment today and with the 4S battery charged to 100% I switched WIFI and 3G off from 08.00 this morning. This remained the status all day but I did receive and send a couple of texts ; when I checked it again at 18.30 it was reading 95% - so that is interesting !

  • @bellathedog2 Points to what uses the most juice for sure.

  • get a HTC

  • @Jameson118 maybe :)

  • my iPhones wifi is terrible

  • @MrNando5556 Not a good sign.

  • i don’t get it. there’s absolutely nothing wrong with my iPhone 4s. guess i’m lucky

  • @Muamarz Very lucky, congrats!

  • Same here Dave on iPhone 4 but iOS 5.01 sucks arse. Also wifi keeps dropping out when I'm 20 cm from router . In a word it's poor

  • @verticallimit12 Battery and signal are the most annoying for me.

  • maybe you can switch it and get a new one if you tell apple!

  • @Mackroxy91 Maybe :)

  • Have you restored your phone and set it up as new? Restoring the phone as new might fix the issue that you are experiencing. Try and do that and see the results. If it doesn't fix the problem, then there is a serious issue with 5.0.1

  • @JSantana319 Yes tried that.

  • Hi Dave, One of the underlying issue's i have with the iPhone is Bluetooth,Battery,Expansion,Signal,Wifi. Even though i have not got an iphone 4s, I'm sick off Apple and it's lack of feature's that i need,Don't get me wrong, The IP4 is a fab hanset, I just feel that with SJ not there anymore, That thing's have slackened at Apple HQ,No body there cracking the whip. So i have ditched the handset and gone back to a SGS2,Waiting for the iP5 next year, Then i shall make my mind up weather to return:(

  • @pimpyouriphone3g Great comment buddy.

  • i just got my white iphone 4s today and i totally love it. But I did not update to 5.0.1 because i noticed on my 3gs that this updates drains the battery quicker. So i'll keep it on ios5 as long as possible :)

  • @Mackroxy91 Thanks for your comment.

  • YUO ARE STUPID ASHOLE!!!

THE BATTERY IS GREAT BUT THERE IS A BUG THAT IF YOU ENABLE SOMETHING IT STARTS A SERVICE THAT DARIN ALL BATTERY, (TRY TO TO TURN OFF, IF IT TAKE LONG THIS SERVICE IS RUNNING END DRAINING -20% HOURS).

-ONLY SOME USERS HAVE THIS BUG.

-IF YOU SARE INFECTED TRY A HARD RESTART, IF IS STILL DOING THIS, REISTALL IOS END D O N T RESTORE THE BACKUP BECAUSE THIS WILL RESTORE THE SAME PROBLEM!!!

I'S A IOS5 BUG, IT WILL BE FIXED!!!!!

  • @The40nontyy3 Why does having an issue with my 4S make me a stupid ashole ?

  • hi dave I think if you get rid of the 4s you will probably regret it after a few weeks. By the next update the battery issues should be completely fixed. Its weird yours has got worse since 5.0.1 as mine has got just a little bit better although have read a lot of people saying theirs has got worse since the update. from past experience if you sell an iPhone you always end up getting another a few months down the line.

  • @adamsbil1 We will see.

  • My dad is getting the Lumia 800

  • @TheRobyoman Cool, let me know what he thinks.

  • change notifications settings to manual.and switch off cellular data when not in use.then ull get a good battery life...!

  • @pulserprabhu44 I tried that, but many think you should not have to take such action.

  • Never had the battery issue. And have NOT downloaded the patch that's supposed to fix the battery issue. I like to leave it a couple of weeks before before downloading updates - that way people like you can find out the problems of the latest updates so I don't have to :) Shocking to hear it may have made the battery issue worse ! Thanks for the video Dave.

  • Dave iv got the iphone4 and with ios5 my battery was dreadful and I was getting the heat issue but I must admit with the 5.0.1 update I can go 2days without charge and no heat problem think it must be a 4s issue.

  • @TheMickytec Wish mine was like that.

  • @PatchowPietro Maybe.

  • Dave what about HTC Titan ,great phone

  • @daverave40 Yes, I tested that, felt it was too big for me to keep in a way.

  • Don't worry, my friend, you can donate it to me. =) Joking. Great video!

  • @JuliaJoanneBlack OK, errr, actually, I thought about it and, errr no, lol, I joke. Thanks for watching :)

  • Get the new iPhone 5

  • @Films4You When's it out ! ;) lol

  • @GeekVloggz I heard, (maybe just a rumor, put out by Apple to keep the interest), that it is ready now

  • If you don't like the iPhone 4S's battery life, give it to me then. :D

  • @SD011 errr, No! lol - good try :)

  • my samsung galaxy s2 atm is 21% ful but last time charged 4d 9h 18m n 6sec ago :)

    on stock 2.3.5 non rooted

  • @987Shomi Wow. That is V Good!

  • Dave I bought the iphone 4s from Apple, And if you ask Siri a question based around England, Then your screwed it only answers for USA and recently did Australia as well. When will apple be doing update for English speaking version so i can ask for chinese resturants or takeaways were i live, Thn get lame excuse American English bla bla .. Are you having same problem being from England too ...

  • @trotty68 Yes, it is limited.

  • I get terrible battery life on my macbook pro 2011 after i updated to lion..

  • @TKero92 That is bad to hear, giving Apple a ring?

  • @GeekVloggz Apparently many others have this problem with lion, The apple forums are full of people with this problem. but they will bring out an update.

  • I've got no issues at all.. Just stick with it Dave instead of turning into a traitor and moving to Android.

Very disappointing if you do tbh...

  • @ad3jp ;) thanks for watching & commenting.

  • i made some research and it seems some white version 32GB models are having the heating issue

  • @kylebriffa7 Trust me to pick the 32GB white then.

  • Nice video

  • @nautbijker Thanks.

  • I'm one of the lucky ones and have never had a any batteries issues with the 4S but i have experienced the no service issue many times and yes it does get hot at the bottom end of the phone.

  • @mungojerry70 That is good to hear.

  • GIVEAWAY!!!

  • @bmatti03 lol.

  • man switch to yours galaxy s2, its not too big and it has all goodness that you will need :)

  • @MrRemyBonjasky ;) thanks.

  • Some people have experienced your problems. The problems were fixed by them swapping the phone or changing the network provider.

  • @AmigoCraft Thanks for your comment.

  • Let me make a suggestion. iPhone 4.

  • @MrThomaswBryan I would, but no longer have one.

  • @GeekVloggz Sell the 4S, £429 unlocked from Apple..... Spose it's an option if your battery is that bad.. Got to be better than WP7 and Android hasn't it!

  • @MrThomaswBryan That's useless - Wi-Fi is still as bad, Bluetooth is shit and then there's the "deathgrip"...

  • @DylRicho Wi-Fi isn't a problem, Who uses Bluetooth on the iPhone and Dave uses a case!

  • @MrThomaswBryan Wi-Fi is a problem - it just doesn't want to connect to Wi-Fi networks sometimes - ridiculous. Also, if you've paid £500 on a phone and it has Bluetooth, you expect it to work. My old phone from 2006 handles Bluetooth better than that shit. Also good one for Dave - he has sense, but that doesn't mean the problem is fixed 100%, and should be forgotten about. It's Apple - I mean come on, every says how good they are, yet they can't design a phone correctly. Well done Apple!

  • Just go back to using your iPhone 4 Dave. You raved about it when it came out.

  • @retromanification I no longer have it.

  • I said this to you on twitter also, but why do you not just get it replaced by apple and see if it gets any better. You should try at least 1 replacement before ditching it :).

  • @Steven1164318 I will give them a chance, but might just try something new.

  • @GeekVloggz True but last time you did that with the desire HD you went back to the iPhone :P

  • its all gone down hill since Steve past

  • Dave if you ditch the 4s will you go back to your iPhone 4? If not which OS would you go for? Windows phone 7, Android out Nokia etc? Also when did you start experiencing these problems? Was it after you updated the iPhone 4s to 5.0.1?

  • @ecartman12 prob Win Phone 7 for a while. Depends if I get a Lumia to test that would be a good indicator. I have no iPhone 4 to go back to.

  • @GeekVloggz what happened to your previous black iPhone 4?

  • @ecartman12 I gave it away.

  • Told you I would not judge, and I guess we (iPhone users) have been lucky with little issues in the recent past.. I'd say give Apple a chance to respond & react, but obviously that's up to you.

    Good luck Dave!

  • @Appleblogz Yes, I will do, just had to share ;)

  • Battery Issue: There is an app on the Market with huge amounts of positive ratings of about 4 and a half / five star ratings and it's called Battery Doctor. It allows you to keep your battery in the best health by doing some tests on it, and it also gives you tips on how to prolong the battery life on your device. -Good little app!

Signal issue: You need to make sure that T-mobile have enable you to connect to Oranges signal where available. Just give them a call and they will sort you out.

  • @TechnologyGadgets Thanks for the comment.

  • :O im glad im not the only one doubting apple now. I am genuinely considering the S2 or the Bold 9900. Would be good to see some comparisons of the high end range of alternatives

  • @blt90 There are plenty of alternatives. I am liking the look of the Lumia 800 in sexy black.

  • Thats really bad Dave, I got my Galaxy S2 last weel so if I was you i'd get one of those, or maybe the Lumia 800 or Galaxy Nexus. But that's really bad and Apple really need to get their act together!

  • @XclusiveAaron How you finding the SGS2?

  • @GeekVloggz I absolutely love it! got a fantastic upgrade deal as well!! i was gonna go for the galaxy nexus but got the S2 cos it has a microSD slot, so it has 16GB internal plus my 16GB card, saves spending more money on a 32GB Nexus. but yeah brilliant phone! :)

  • @XclusiveAaron How's the battery life on the S2?

  • @JSantana319 pretty good, much better than my HTC Desire was

  • Another top video, and points I can relate to having seen the 4S in action on a daily basis. Personally I'm wanting to change from my 3GS now, definitely want to go back to Android but not sure whether to sell the 3GS and get a similar price Android, or wait for an upgrade to a top-spec one.

  • @GadgetGuru32 Hard decision.

  • Bloody hell. The iPhone 4s's battery is worse than HTC handsets and people complain about the battery life on the desire series but by midday I get about 90% battery life if I am not using the phone for much except checking e-mail and little things like that. Battery life is the next thing Apple should work on.

  • @ecartman12 Definitely.

  • @GeekVloggz to family or sold on Ebay?
