It´s much harder to build a really fast car that you cant feel it´s fast until you floor it..

In the seventies they turbocharged a diesel benz to a top speed over 300km/h... a w123 with a 300D, no mod´s to the engin besides a huge turbo and force feeding it with diesel, maybe it wasn´t a "Green" car ;) it might have had some black exhaust fumes.. ;)

Funny how when I watch this, I can't help but notice that, despite the VW Veyron being faster, it's still a Volkswagen - it's big and bulbous looking and sounds like a fat man's rumbling stomach. Such a disgraceful car, the Veyron. As a circuit board, it's great. But as a car, it lacks the thing that real German cars have had for over a century - character. Listen to that Anglo-German bomb in the SLR - it's quiet and composed and then emits the most vulgar, fantastic sound and engine can make.
