  • Chris Tune here: This is nice...I've noticed the same thing. Lately, I've begun to think that the whole space "inside" needs to have a proper relation to the pitches being produced. I'm thinking it has to do with the rate of flow of air (just "rate", since narrower passages need a faster flow rate in order to "source" the same volume of air through to the instrument).

    So, this is like the physics of plumbing (using water) or jet engines (using air), and organ pipes and supply systems.
