On mission two, you should set the engines for max-speed or for about one-left of max-speed. Use one boost to get to the max speed in the race, and leave the rest of the boosts for the last 1000 meters.

The story mode plotline felt like it was from some wierd fan-fiction, but the missions were good, and I think the cutscene animations were pretty good.

I love this game, but man, story mode on very hard is..... O_o Since theres no F-Zero AX machine that I know of in IL, I had to unlock the AX racers the HARD way. Chapters 5 and 7 were close to IMPOSSIBLE but i managed to beat them. After a million tries....

Playing this game right now & i've gotta say it's awesome! So glad I kept my gamecube collection! There should be more contemporary games like this to appeal to hardcore gamers who enjoy a challenge.

I think this game is great. I've had a lot of fun with it myself. Look out for level 9 though. It's hard (but doable).

There's also an arcade counterpart which I can't find anywhere.

that's the same in sonic rider's Zero Gravity because the frist mission is to get away from robots and to do that you must come in 1st place by going around the same lap 3 times
