Great interview...I too will always love the story of this wonderful creature. The bond and love he shared with these gentlemen is indescribably beautiful.
Just an FYI...Ace's last name is spelled Bourke...not Burke.
Reposting...It's a tragedy that this beautiful little lion ended up in a department store. It's a tragedy that after that he was confined to a London flat totally unnatural to him. Thank goodness for these two wonderful men who had Christian's best interest at heart and truly, they did everything they could possibly have done for a lion under such circumstances. Terrific ending to a very sad beginning for a Lion.
"James Bond was scared!" LOL. Yeah I thought it was a funny thing to say that Christian would not remember them when lions do have great memories I guess it was the affection with which he greeted them that was extraordinary. I am glad they cleared that up :-)

Lions, like domestic house cats and dogs, also have a VERY KEEN sense of smell, so, Christian remembered their scent, their looks and their voices.
This story is absolutely incredible and I can't stop crying. I will always love Christian, always.
