I'm not trying to start a debate. I'm simply saying that the GTR can be tuned or modified if you like, to compete and be as fast as the ACR. I'm not a huge fan of the GTR I'm more of the Porsche guy.
Yeah the CGT is awesome but my all time favorite Porsche is the 959. I always wanted one when I was a kid growing up. I still can't afford one but a 930 is the closest thing I could afford. Its true its not all wheel drive like the 959 but its still a nice classic Porsche.
I would rather have a ZR-1 for everyday driving, as for a track car, I would rather have some kind of ridiculous kit car with a motorcycle engine. This thing is just all kinds of impractical.

@noshabibis F/I means forced induction. The ZR1 has a supercharger and the Lexus LFA is all motor. The ZR1 is faster, but the Lexus LFA uses no turbos or supercharger. In my opinion, the LFA is much better even if the price tag is much higher and is slower. "Not likely on the track"

@vm2003 Not modified, but rather tuned. True, it's not the same specs that came out of the factory, but the stock suspension does allow adjustments. Same thing can be said for any car that was using "sport" mode. Only real difference is electronic adjustments versus manual adjustments.

why is everyone talking about relative displacement anyway? sure everyone knows theres no replacement for displacement, its a low budg way to get hp instead of direct injection or increased compression ratio or even turbos. yes plenty of companies can get lots of hp from fewer cylinders or displacement but the viper engine is cheap and very reliable. whereas a ferrari engine repair can cost $60,000 the 8.4 v10 lump of an engine with complete wiring goes for about $25,000.

And let's not forget the powerband and torqueband of the engine that can break traction even at high speeds.

You do know, that whatever company want to use for displacement/cylinders/power, they CHOOSE to do it right? back in 92, Dodge CHOSE to give the Viper 8.0L and 400bhp, still today they CHOOSE to give it a 8.4L V10, they dont need it, Tuner have taken an 07 Viper and rebuilt the engine to make it a 4.0L V10, and produced the same numbers, but thats not the point, they CHOOSE to do it, thats the word you fail to notice.

LF-A doesnt need R-compound tires to achieve a good time because it already lapped the ring in 7:14 with its stock summer performance tires.

@vm2003 Not modified, but rather tuned. True, it's not the same specs that came out of the factory, but the stock suspension does allow adjustments. Same thing can be said for any car that was using "sport" mode. Only real difference is electronic adjustments versus manual adjustments.

alright everyone get this straight downforce esp in great numbers such as the ACR reduced top speed. the acr is for the track where the fastest ud ever go is maybe 150mph n that very fast on a track such as the nurburgring where u r constantly down shifting. if u want top speed instead of good track times get the stock viper its good for 200+mph.

why is everyone talking about relative displacement anyway? sure everyone knows theres no replacement for displacement, its a low budg way to get hp instead of direct injection or increased compression ratio or even turbos. yes plenty of companies can get lots of hp from fewer cylinders or displacement but the viper engine is cheap and very reliable. whereas a ferrari engine repair can cost $60,000 the 8.4 v10 lump of an engine with complete wiring goes for about $25,000.

When the '96 GTS came out, it was producing more torque than an Enzo or even F1. Not to mention, the car didn't even break the 100K price range. And let's not forget the powerband and torqueband of the engine that can break traction even at high speeds.

Sure, you can go on and list a couple of cars that exceeded 200K in price that were available in the 90s, but you have to remember 400 was a high number back then.

You do know, that whatever company want to use for displacement/cylinders/power, they CHOOSE to do it right? back in 92, Dodge CHOSE to give the Viper 8.0L and 400bhp, still today they CHOOSE to give it a 8.4L V10, they dont need it, Tuner have taken an 07 Viper and rebuilt the engine to make it a 4.0L V10, and produced the same numbers, but thats not the point, they CHOOSE to do it, thats the word you fail to notice.

@GranTurismoKid2011 how is 600 hp a joke? theres only a handful of cars with that hp and many of those are turbo charged. for the price theres not much if anything stock that can beat it. the engine is derived from the truck engine so its pretty much bullitt proof, not like many expensive ferraris and lambos which break down often. the original was tuned pretty much by lamborghini, so i dont see how its garbage. oh and its still one of the fastest cars around the nurburgring.

If you gave all those cubes (8.4L) to a japanese or a german engineer, they would certainly come up alot more than 600hp and they certainly wouldn't use "pushrods" like the viper uses. Yeah, 600 horses is alot but that's not my point, and like u said, no replacement for displacement, but theres no replacement for RPM's either.
