Unreal footage, thats a huge catch. I cant believe how you can hold so much without sinking your corks. What depth were you in. We seine for pilchards here in South Australia & anything between 150t & up will take the corks for a ride to the bottom sometimes, even pulled up sand all over the corks in 50m of water, probably shot about 300t + but ended up with 100.
Did this set the record for the biggest herring set? I was the skiffman for the Infinite Glory for a couple summers salmon fishing when I was in college.
And to think that we DROVE AWAY from that cove on Kruzof before the opening because one of our pilots said that "It doesnt look like much in there, let them have it" !!
Actually, that photo you've seen is likely the JillAnneI. It looked more impressive because they were in shallower water. At the time of this video we were on about tender number five or so. But really, it didn't look much bigger than it did at this moment.

Icelandic boats are getting cath well over 2000 tonns, check out my video wich is taken in a fjord in Iceland last fall. Over 2000 tonns.
