ok, so this is from the 'I Am Mine' single, right? In my opinion it sounds like it should be off Avocado/Pear Jam self-titled. It doesn't sound like Riot Act era to me...idk though haha
@MrWookie91 well, it came with in the lost dogs album and, if i'm not wrong, this is a previous album to avocado/pearl jam. but, what the hell, men, it's a great song anyway
This one is one of my favorite lost dogs. The message at the time it came out was very timely...but frankly, I just like the music. I don't say this all that often about PJ tunes, but it's actually a pretty catchy tune.
Is this upload sourced from the single, or from the "Lost Dogs" album? I've heard there are some slight differences between the two, but have no idea what they are. Do you know?
Eddie and the boys are somewhat idealistic in their world view. At the time, they understood what was wrong, but did not go into the "why" that things happened. Very few do. I think they're all closer to that now then they were then. Sometimes it takes longer for certain people to "wake up" to the truth.
I'll never get why some songs dont make albums when they are this good. I suppose it doesn't fit in all that well...but i feel like if it was actually placed in the album somewhere I wouldn't feel that way. Either way fantastic song.
pearljammer13 - Agreed! maybe its because they have so much good music, even great tunes like this get left over. I always wondered why they never recorded the old Bad Radio song "Believe You Me".
Voting. It's not about Jesus. Very much about the Bush administration. 'Can't wait for election day, good news for the occupation, corporations rule the day' second verse comment on Iraq war. The point about the pendulum swinging back the other way is about how he expects them to be voted out.
Last stop on the westcoast line. South of the northern border. One small corner home tonight. Everybody they know me there. Don't get any second glances. Chances are that they don't care. The world has come undone. Like to change it everyday. Change don't come at once. There's a wave, building before it breaks. Can't wait for election day. Witness the occupation. Corporations rule the day.
Well you know the pendulum throws. Farther out to the one side swinging. Has to sweep back the other way. The world has come undone. Another day and who can wait. Change don't come at once. It's a wave, building before it breaks. All this hope and nowhere to go. This is how I used to feel but no more. The world has come undone. Like a game if you can play. Change don't come from one. It's a wave, building before it breaks.

Maybe what Eddie Vedder does not realise is that George Bush got in because it was rigged, oviously. And it was'nt just once he got in either??
This song should of been on Riot Act too..........would of improved it alot.

maybe cause Ed feel Believe You Me is a Bad Radio song, and it Should belong to those guys, he was only a part-time singer...
Ekyvvsaq 2 years ago
PJ does a lot of covers, so maybe it stems from some agreement Ed had with the guys from BR. Who knows...just thought it would be nice.

hey you should post some songs from the holiday singles since most (including me) havent heard em except for the ones on lost dogs. if you can.

wath is this song about?

@Ekyvvsaq i think it's about jesus
dmp78 2 years ago
IMO i think it means...
"everybody they know me there, dont get any second glances chances are that they dont care"
the beginning of the song i think he is commenting on how he can live in peace in seattle with out fans or paparazzi following them around...
"...cant wait for election day, witness the occupation, corporations rule the day...."
i think that line is a comment about bu$h and the elitists
especially since it was a riot act era song, i think it is more social/political commentary
