This is quite something. I consider myself a composer, but nowhere as loose and free on piano keys. I can use the keys as a writing tool. But when I hear this I am so impressed. You have lots of depth and emotion in your playing. Well done....again. I feel the emotion in it. You should do more on here. You could build a huge following on YT if you were consistent. ;)

That's an interesting question... I've thought a lot about it. I honestly think that the hormones have affected my playing because I am more emotional now... and I write and play based on the emotions i'm feeling. I definitely wouldn't have wrote many of my songs because they all relate to a part of my life after I started hormones... and now that i'm happy and not having these gender issues always playing in my head, I can completely devote my mind to the piano when I play =)

There must be some software that will transcribe what you play onto digital sheet music.

BTW, many of the great composers started out playing by ear, then later learned how to read music, then later on, to write/compose the music.

Given our much longer lives, you could become the next Mozart!  So, get busy learning to read and write music! You seem to have the creative part figured out, already.

That's how I have to play. I took lessons for a little while, but then over the years it kind of just... poof. But I usually watch people and try to replicate either by seeing or ear, and when I compose I just do it over and over until I memorize it. So I hear ya. Notes are really complicated.

Yes... sort of. I can't write music, so I rely on memory to compose and play my songs. However, I made up the ending and one part in the middle during this recording. So, I more so play by ear based on my concepts than strictly memory.

I met a stranger named Roxy at the airport and she quickly became a good friend. I promised her I'd write her a song detailing the events.

So, opening theme is alone in the airport, then waiting time, then introduce Roxy's melody, back to waiting time, sudden key change as we cross paths for the first time, then introduce my melody, back to alone in the airport, then eye contact, then climax with our first conversation... and unfinished ending as she suddenly boards her plane.

I will send you an MP3 if you like, i would like to re-record this one and fix 3 mistakes that catch my ear though. I have considered doing a some sort of PayPal where I would sell my songs, but I almost hate to charge money for them. Although, the money I made would go towards more stuff to record and create songs with. I have 10 more of these, and concepts for around 20-30 others.

If you notice, at the start of my video, I push a button on the piano right before I start playing. The button records what I play. Then, after the video is finished, I plug the piano to a digital recorder and then transfer it to my computer. Then I sync it to the video. The quality is as good as I can get it for now. I suppose I could tweak the audio, but I really prefer for it to sound exactly like it sounds coming out of my piano.

The drawing is actually a late night doodle done world renowned impressionist painter, Gerald DeLoach. I played piano for him one night while he sketched me for fun. I treasure the drawing very much =)

This song in the video was actually for my friend Roxi, it describes how we met... and both of our theme melodies are in this piece. However, I just decided to make this song my theme, as it's the only piece I've ever written that describes me. My next song upload will probably be Okome's, which is based off of this piece, but very different.
