I wanna congratulate you for your animation and ask you a favor: can you kindly tell me where do I click o how in the world can I possible control the speed of an object attached to a path constraint? I am an advanced 3ds Max user, but being unable to accelerate or dis accelerate an object or a camera on a path has killed many of my projects, including a roller coaster. Please, I NEED this information BADLY!
Nice one. Care to give a little more info on what your dissertation is about? I'm doing my dissertation now, I want to use 3d max, but can't think of any ideas. I'm worried that creating just a piece of art is going to be difficult to justify or document as theres plenty of paperwork needed. I just get the idea the dissertation either needs to be a product that can be used, or a solution to some problem.
very nice, how do you make the camera follow the tracks? im doing a project like this of my own (no way as good as yours!) and it is using reactor and a modelled carriage to go around the track... though i need to sort some things out with it as it is very glitchy at the moment
It's first person. For the sake of my sanity i dont have time to model an authentic looking train. Something i'll probably do after the hand in as its not strictly necessary for my dissertation.
Definitely nice to see someone else releasing their own 3d coaster animation aside from myself. Not trying to take anything away from your protoype, but did you have a chance to create a train design for your ride or was it strictly a 1stPerson POV project?
How is this ride made ? in 3dmax ? if so.. how do you control the speed or ?!

@stepxunit i would say if it was 3d max it would have to do with how he used his auto key

Dude i've worked on 3ds max and it is solid...well done mate! Can't imagine how hard it must have been to make something as complex as this!

Good, but I think Nolimits is a better program for coasters.
xtremespeed128 3 years ago
perhaps, but i think they made it as a way to learn 3DS MAX better, not just to make a rollercoaster ^^
linus191 2 years ago
maybe it would have been better with sounds? :)

This comment has received too many negative votes show
this coaster sucks

Did you just animate this with keyframes and all. or did you use Reactor or something?

it could be much more authentic if u'd change the gravitaion parameters.
but it still coll :)

wow, very nicely done! I'm very very impressed. I just made my own, and I got a couple spazms mixed with inability to cope with "allow upside down".

I get that problem too, if you find a fix, please let me know.
