  • I don't care if it's a chevy dodge or a ford a diesel is nothing but a big expence for what you get from them, I have a 1976 f 150 with a 390 in it and stock at 3800 rpms it produces 472 fp of torque and has 335 Hp with the 4 spd it would pull a house if it could get enough traction the only downfall is it gets 11 MPG on a good day but no payments the truck has 267,000. miles on it and the new motor has about 30,000. and was cheap to rebuild, no high dollar diesel for me.

  • i replaced my injectors it ran me 6grand

  • I can see the problem from here .......it's a ford

  • Change the top end oil when you change the rest of the oil and it will make the injectors last forever. You have about 3 quarts in the reservoir under the black plastic cover that says powerstroke. This oil fires the injectors.

  • beating a duramax or a cummins with a powerstroke is like a lamborghini against a yugo.

  • great job only he smokes weird

  • Ahaha shes a power stroker

  • That was a turbo issue right?sounds like it

  • Great motors, just leaked oil, fixed with hpop o rings and a few other seals. beat the shiz out of them, still hold up

  • dont you just love injector knocks?

  • also. change the oil at every 5k. i had a 01 powerstroke and went about 8k miles and destroyed my turbo and my number 7 and 8 injectors. but i also drive wide open all the time

  • @evans3390 shitt i change my oil ever 3 with my 7.3, its pretty important to do due to the heiu injector system

  • Huffdiesel... So you are one of the dumb fucks spreading this retarted ass rumor. Cummins is its own company stupid ass, nobody owns them. Dodge has renewed their contract with cummins and Ford is building their own diesel for 2011, its a 6.7L V-8 single sequential turbo diesel. Cat has absolutly no plans to ever build a light duty diesel intended for any of the big three. Get your head out of your ass and stop making shit ip

  • I hear injector problems a good bit of times.... How many miles are on the truck before you had the problem?

I only ask B/C im looking at purchasing a 1999 F250 7.3 Powerstroke my self. Im just curious about the MOST common problems with the trucks.

I just need heads up info.

    Thanks.....

  • Sounds like it is broken.

  • ours is doin this, the scanner keeps sayin number 8 injector

  • mines got the same thing only the mechanic says its the turbo idk? There must b a problem with these models mines an 06

  • Darn HEUI crap !!

  • i replaced my injector 8 but sounds the same

  • check out powerstrokehelp on youtube that guys a friggin genius with the powerstroke series. hell tear em all down and show you why shit fails and what to do.

  • i know right?? i've messaging him all week about stuff... he's a freakin Saint!!!

  • he answers you?

  • indeed.. have u messaged him and not gotten a reply?

  • nope, just wondering because he seems busy all the time i didnt think he would

  • ya.. he's busy but if u re send it youll get an answer

  • ford # 1 selling truck so all you gay boy suck on my tall pipe an i,llcumins for yall without strokin you cant have cummis

  • ID RATHER BE STROKED THAN RAMMED!

  • id rather be cummin then strokin

  • @technineriderTEH FYI the cummins used in ram are owned by ford, dodge was on a contract to use them in their trucks, dodge is now going to cat and ford will have powerstroke and cummins in their trucks

  • @huffdieselyea not true

  • @technineriderTEH that sounds gay either way.

  • @technineriderTEH you'd rather be stroking all day than cumming? strange

  • @technineriderTEH that's not what he said about you... lol

  • @technineriderTEH I guess there aint much to say bout Duramaxes is there. Nothing I can think of. But, I still think if you could take the body from a Ford, chassis from a Chevy, and Cummins 6.7 from a ram with an allison tranni, youd have the best truck around! Im gonna do that!

  • @technineriderTEH id rather bein cummin than strokin

  • that sound sucks balls we have had the same thing go wrong with our 7.3

  • ok i knw this os off topic but me and my ada are having proublems with are 2004 ford f350 powerstroke. First, if we dont let it warm up for at leats an hour and a half in winter and like a half hour in summer then when we pull out of drive way and get RPM up to 1.5 it acts like its not getting enough fuel? or the deisel is bad. or gelled but it its cause my dad puts in #1 deisel? please replie in a personal msg and the 2nd is we can get it out of P and into D. He has to use both feet and HARD!!

  • Powerstroke is way better than Cummins well it is better for towing and hauling 2008 Ford F450 6.4 Powerstroke V8 350 HP 650 Torque vs 2008 Dodge Ram 4500 6.7 Cummins 350 HP 610/650 Torque.

Powerstroke tows 24600 lbs and 6200 payload VS Cummins 22000 lbs and 6000 payload

  • ford fan is a foggt .get your facs straight u spic scrap. i va had all 3 . a new dodge megacab 6.7 is the best truck you can get u cunt

  • No I Aint U Cnt Tow 24600 lbs with a Dodge 4500 Bitch

  • i know you can do it with a 3500 dodge

  • well my dads work partner couldnt

  • your dads life partner? what?

  • people towed 30k with a 3500...4 full size Bentleys a huge huge bitch ass trailer

  • i read somewhere the 6.7 had only 190hp and like 400someodd torque

  • dude thats a rod knockin ,that things a gonner mine as well give it to me :D

  • gay!

  • shoulda gotten a CUMMInS

  • crummins? hell no! 10 cummins owners just lost their cylinder heads to this guy's one injector, lol hahaha

  • I forgot to update this...

It ended up being an injector. I replaced it and the truck runs GREAT now!!

  • my 99 77.3 also has an injector problem right now, how much was it repair this problem.

  • I replace the injectors myself, so it only cost me parts and time.

I still have 2 GOOD injectors left from buying ones for my truck. I'll sell them to you for $150 for BOTH. Brand new they are $250 A PIECE!

  • i still have to see if the whole injector needs to be replaced or just the o rings, i will get back about those injectors, thanks.

  • @MoNos54 u can get rebuilt injectors for $115

  • @MoNos54 Swap the Powerjunk for a 5.9 Cummins and walla problem solved !!

  • I'd say it's an injector I think if you could do a injector buzz test with a snap on scanner you would find it

  • P0470 Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction

P0478 Exhaust Pressure Control Valve High Input

    P0562 System Voltage low

  • if you have access to decent scan tool run an injector buzz test, 1 may sound different and lead you in the right direction.

  • Hmm, this is a 7.3, right? If it was a 6.0 I would say yeah, definitely the injectors. But the 7.3s didn't have many problems with the injectors. It sure started up fast, but based on the way the starter sounded, it sounds like you have some blow by. I also it was blowing a ton of smoke, which could be engine oil. But again, yeah, you might have an injector stuck open. How many miles are on the engine? Do you have a tuner? Are you consuming more fuel than normal? Is it consuming engine oil?

  • LITTLE UPDATE:

    I pulled the codes, P0470, P0478, P0562

  • I am in the process of trying to fix my powerstroke after the tip of the injector broke off it didn't even run as long as you just ran that one and it destroyed the piston scored the cylinder and hurt the bearing pretty bad.

  • wow, i would not continue to run it like that, I think you have a stuck open injector. I would get a little nervous about all that hammering of the piston. Eventually you will break something with it running like that. Get it looked ASAP man
