My favorite is when online players think they never make mistakes, yet they dont review there play, and the only reason they lose is because online poker is "rigged" or there just that "unlucky"

People cant accept the true realities of poker.. I was like that for an entire year of playing, it took me forever to realize my EGO was massive, and that beats never stop, becuase theres so much luck..

I always laugh though when people say online pokers rigged, thats my absolute favorite :)

@mmnmnmmmnmmn totally agree! AK preflop will and should win only 2 out of 3 times to 27 but so many people seem to think the best hand just always should win, otherwise: "rigged rigged rigged". Learn to live with it and LEARN STATS I always say. I originally said it to be kind and point them ou the facts, but I found it's the perfect way to steam them up some more. Even when I was not in the hand, after a remark like that, suddenly, to them, I am the donk to blame. Love it. ;-)

a bad beat is if a guy makes a very bad move, but manage to outdrew you... if you loose aa vs kk in a 20 bb pot it aint a bad beat because the kk-guy didnt do anything wrong! but if you do get bad beated against bad players just remember that it is them that is chipping up your bankroll.. they are just borrowing your chips for a while..

TJ Cloutier (1:22 to 1:24) really sticks to his principles

He probably took one of the worst beats in poker history when he got sucked out on the river going heads up with Chris Ferguson at the 2000 WSOP Main Event.

If that hadn't happened, TJ would be the wsop 2000 champion because he and Ferguson were virtually even in chips at that point. But if you watch that hand (last hand of wsop 2000), TJ is really calm and controlled even when he loses.

In defense of some (not all) bad beat stories - some really are just told for the amusement - flop quads then opp hits runner runner royal flush etc. But the majority (aces cracked) happen to everyone regularly (no one is unlucky) and should never be told over and over again.
