An impressive feat, your research might actually be handy to look at while I make my own strategies. I think I've picked up a trick to the quickening system, though not impressive like yours. Thanks for putting this on, I'll be looking at your other vids now.

With this setup, I could very well do 50. The theoretical maximum limit is 96.

I have stated that it does need updating, though I haven't gotten around to doing that yet. An update is coming likely today or tomorrow though as I've learned more. I've also omitted some important details too. What are some of the complaints about it? I haven't gotten any E-mails on such things.

Having a video on August 17 is no guarantee. Showcasing 3 more worlds in PM (Keveran Desert (already added), Keveran Reef (need the 12-channel water), and likely Ronnis) would likely be the next video, though it may not be until August 19 that I get it, depending on what goes on.

Defeat Behemoth King (a hunt - unsure on how to get it to appear other than doing every available hunt, probably the elite marks (Yiazmut not required)), then check Mount Bur-Omisace. It's the game's best rod, providing a massive +35 boost on MP (+105 with all 3 mist charges) and also giving a nice boost on magick power.

Actually, 16,806 is the absolute most possible HP any of the 6 characters can have - Basch (with 5778 max possible HP) with the game's first accessory (+25), the 5 +HP licenses (+1000), the "dueling mask" (+800), the mirage vest (+800), and bubble status (x2). 1272 is the absolute most possible MP - Ashe (349 max possible MP), rod of faith (+35), sorcerer's hat (+20), sorcerer's habit (+20), and 3 full mist charges (x3).

The ability to reach level 99 with no story progress is the best part of it. This in itself doesn't have that much of an effect. 6/10 for FF12's review still stands as is. FF12 has plenty of weak points. It also has some strong points, with the strongest being in regards to graphics.

@ulillillia Do you have the courage to level to 99 before the first boss in FF7? That takes 500h.

I wouldn't go that extreme. The 70-hour method for FF12 is approaching my limit. Disgaea has much more variety so I've gone on far, far more (845 hours into the first play of the game before I even saw what the Dinero Palace looked like - Baal was already defeated by then, of which only got the usual 0's and "miss" as I've been having since around 20 or so hours into the game).

Just remember to license only one quickening, no more. Sure you won't have much MP throughout the game, this is generally not a problem, especially once you get the "syphon" spell - use it on your berserked damage dealer (who has the appropriate licenses) when you're running short on MP. Once you start getting the espers that need 2 mist charges to summon (there's 5 in all) then 3 (there's 4), the limited MP is longer becomes troublesome.

There are ways to do 99 combo chains, but I can't really get into detail with it. You can't do the easier 99s unless you only have certain quickenings and characters.. maybe you would be interested in that :0

I remember when i pulled a quickening chain of 30 on diablos. I didn't realize he had a pailng up thiugh and i died. whoops.

The use of palings is one of the most disliked elements in FF12. It's why I hate that rock tortoise boss at Ridorana - perfect defense is so annoying. Characters can't get it or use them. Fortunately, though strangely, perfect defense failed to actually work in this particular play - it came up for only about a second, then went away. It's the fastest I've ever defeated that thing. Then again, if I had known of the flare trick to delay it, I may not have had to put up with it.

So what's your overall opinion about this game?

It's a bit too repetitive and lacking various things (like better status protection), but I especially love the fact you can get level 99 with virtually no story progress (before Nalbina Dungeons) in reasonable time (70 hours). I have a video series explaining the even faster 40-hour method, if you're interested.
