Phase 3 Squall with Vectored Thrust

Oh i cant wait to get mine done just waiting on the vector bits to arrive :-)

Did you set it all up standard rates? as per the the build instructions.

CofG etc please any tips greatly taken.

@28Jimbobf Yes it was setup as per the build instructions. Greatest care must be taken to set CofG per instructions and also careful during launch as it will roll or flip due to mislaunch or crosswinds etc.... be prepared to react quickly on launch.

@28Jimbobf with the vectored thrust do NOT use high rates until you feel ready for it. I've flown mine numerous times and just keep it on low rates. with the t.v. setup it's enough to do any manuever. plus i dial in 30 percent expo.

been told these are no good for a beginner as they have to be flown fast to keep them in the air is this true..? as when you land it looks to be going quite slow & looks easy... i have flight sim & can fly them ok on there but know its not the same thing...

@Baron30s Once the squall is in the air they fly very well, in fact the issue is slowing it down in my opinion. Hand launch can be tricky and must be done correctly, rolls are very fast, tumbles and spins should be done at altitude to give time to correct and establish normal flight.

Really nice. Is that the 3s or 4s version and what length servo arms are you using on the vt unit?

Great flying. How do you do the flat spins ?

@mike28093 for flat spins on the squall all I use is throttle and rudder...get lots of altitude, slow right down completely and then its left stick to the top right or left corner.
