That chevy looks (and is) cheap. My neighbor bought one and cut himself within two days on some of the fascia that looked as it it had been popped out of a mold like a cheap oversized car model. Then the engine problems and electrical problems started. I bought an SHO and he has since traded in his car for a Fusion (a better comparison to the Malibu) and hasn't looked back.
@batchnerd dude i dont know where you come from but ford is not that great of a car. neither is toyota. neither is honda or nissan or any other japanese piece of shit. ford makes their cars look nice like luxury. but they forgot something. hmm maybe the engine and transmission. cherolet is better. every ford owner i know has had a lot of problems with their fords.
@FFC159 OK so that's why my 2001 focus has less problems than my aunts 2011 cruze, and the focus is still better than my aunts Saturn aura, she even said so. Thats why the transmissions in the cruze was put in wrong. The recall on the cobalt that sometimes it doesn't go into park. That's why the manager of MERCEDES said I shouldn't sell my car.

We had a 1989or some late 80's model silverado with 600,000 miles on it and it still didnt break down we just sold it. 1991 cavalier with over 300,000 on it. mid 90's astro with over 300,000 on it. 2000 cavalier with 120,000on it with hardly any maintenance. All of these cars were mostly neglected mind you. no regular oil change or anything.
@FFC159 I'm glad you had the experience you did. I actually used to be a big GM fan. It started to stop after we got our F250, and when I saw what my moms cavalier looked like after a 30km/h. So we bought a 99 Windstar (i know not the best rep) but we had no major issues with it. The ride quality and the AC more than made up for them. Mom and I got T-boned by a 03-05 cavalier and the driver broke her arms. I was saved by the CURTAIN airbag. Thats right our 99 had curtain airbags.

I think whatever people have luck with is what they are fans of. and whatever they like the looks of more.
Malibu Is better cause I own a 98 and a 05. Besides my Chevy S-10 the 98 was great(although it quit on me in April) and I bought my 05 recently so yeah The malibu is better

Yes, don't forget that the Malibu has a 3.6 V6. It might seem like the Taurus has more power in it's 3.5 but its also much more heavier then the Malibu. Making the Malibu a much faster car.
