  • Most interesting, thanks for loading this. It would be nice to see crowds that large these days. I must agree about the day-glo jackets, does rather ruin the image!

  • @ConradLongmore I disagree! In 1934 the kids (sorry "young ladies" and their "fellows") seemed to be running the whole show themselves - hardly an adult in sight - and no chariot-pullers in ghastly day-glo jackets. Health and Safety gone mad! My mother - the May Queen - enjoyed your vid by the way - and great to see the tradition being continued. Thanks must go to a great headmaster (Mr Wadsworth) who inspired his pupils some 80 years ago.
