@elliottjschwartz You are most welcome! I'm always amazed that this video has so many views ...it's by far the most popular video I have up. You can play any kind of music well on the ukulele...it's really an incredible instrument. Keep at it and you will have a thing that you can do at any age that will be continually rewarding.
Great vid man! You're awesome. I'm jus now learning to play the ukulele and this is exactly what I wanna learn. What's the strum pattern on the main riff?
Hello, I think this is a great video, i really enjoy the sound. But I really cannot quite make out what you are doing; because you go from showing us the chords then you go very quickly into playing it, so I cannot really make out what you are doing. Can you please tell me in steps how to do it? I would be really grateful!
I am very (VERY) new to playing any instrument. It can be kind of disheartening with the slow progress. But thanks to your vid now I can play a cool little blues ditty. Freakin awesome! Thank you very much.
P.S.
Any more snippets like that floatin around your noggin?
Awesome, can't wait to practice this, you made it so easy to follow, this will be good drills to practice picking skills, and so much fun to practice, just what I've been looking for.
@farmertml If you use an electronic tuner...it might sound off a little. Just tune your ukulele to match my ukulele and then it will sound right .... the relative tuning is correct enough so it will also sound fine once you retune it back to match your electronic tuner, tuning fork, pitch pipe, or whatever you use as a reference for "standard"...
First off, thanx a lot man! That's what the 'ukulele is all about, innit? Making sweet music! And second: is that a soprano with a wound C string? I have to string mine with guitar strings. Which one from a classical guitar set would be good as a wound C?
Thanks for the reply. Those are aquila "nylgut" strings...standard soprano set. I try to keep things traditional: four strings, soprano size, etc. THe nylgut strings sound closer to the original sheep intestine "gut" strings...bright. My spies in Hawai'i have hinted that Koaloha Ukuleles will be coming out with some wound strings as part of their branded sets...keep your eyes peeled for future developments. Also, the full range of Hilo Brand strings is available at w w w . pegasusguitars . com
