That said he has done better versions of 'M'appari' on records. The chop is from the reproduction not the singing.

Bocelli is a pro, the phrasing is on the money...the poor video/audio quality may have something to do with the overall presentation. Count it out...or better yet get a metronome. There isn't a 'chop' in there. Bocelli is regarded as the smoothest lyric tenor around.
