What a profoundly appropriate interpretation! Brilliant choice of imagery simultaneously contrasting poverty with affluence, frailty against tenacity, despair and hope. Ultimately the point of view as passive observer forces the question: at what point in our trip through life will we choose to get involved and make a difference? Awesome video for an incredible song. Thanks for sharing it.
This is a truly lovely song, done beautifully by Annie. I love the back up singer too! ;) I had never heard it before. Thank you so much for posting it. I enjoyed your video, it fits with the music.
It is disappointing that it was not on the Medusa CD. I am now on a mission to find it!
I had been wondering who you are. Thanks for updating your profile pic and solving the mystery. I love this song and have never heard it before. Thanks SO much for posting this video and the many others on your page.
Oh, thank you so much for putting up this video!! *sigh* Y'know, I could listen to her sing all day, and all night- and always get a little "something special", whether it be the music or the lyrics. WHAT a fabulous talent she has. NOT only with the music, but also her endless "active compassion" with the SING Campaign. Heaven indeed. Hahahah- getting that sense of.. 'de ja'vu all over again!
Your little video truly suits this song. I can't help but think Annie would like it! :)

WONDERFUL ! I never tire of this beautiful song. I wish she had released this as a single and put it on the Medusa album.
It's a shame it doesn't appear on the new Greatest Hits album which is out in Feb 2009.

Thanks for the comment.
Just so due credit is observed, Annie does all vocals, both leading and background for all of her songs....just amazing, right?

I realize that, which is why I said it and put the smily wink after it! She truly is an amazing artist.

Great video - I love the "hoohoohoo hoooo" part she does at the very end of this song. I can't believe this was just a b-side track.
Personally I like the idea of this song starting with a bunch of kids entering the shot holding candles and surrounding Annie while she sings.
