  • People seem to forget, or were too young to remember that when MJ dunked from the freethrow line in 1985 his toes were before the line. Remember he put a piece of tape at the freethrow line marking where he was going to jump from and his leap was true to that mark. check the replays kids. 1985 Slamdunk Contest. MJ's rookie year. Thank you.

well people would argue that his toe is on the line instead of behind the line haha. but like i said that short distance is not a problem for them. commentators now are highly uneducated to the game it is very sad.

  • Dunk of the Contest might have been Derozen's 2nd dunk or Blakes first Miss LOL.

  • Thank you for making this video !!!! Awesome

  • the commentator is retarded to think that jordan couldnt do a perfect freethrow line dunk. jordan's attempts of freethrow dunk were all having higher elevation than this shit you see here. this #9 version is extremely ugly and boring, like he didnt take off at all. jordan's ones not only have higher elevations but he actually landed after the backboard and charged directly to the backpole. that shows how much more ground jordan cover than this shit you see here.

  • aesthetically mj's free dunk is on another level too. that's the problem about these new dunk contest dumbass. they dont care about creating original body control in the air. instead they keep repeat those ugly stupid dunk like between the legs dunk and throw it to the backboard dunk. how boring is that? if you look at all the dunks by mj in those dunk contests most of them are very pleasing and acrobatic, there is nothing like that now.

  • @popeyeisgood 8.39...Ι remember Kenny Sky Walker did that dunk in the 89 contest...and yes...you're right in the sense that MJ's free throw line dunk was more difficult cuz he dribbled the ball...and I think he's the only one to do a ft line dunk while dribbling the basketball on his way to the hoop...

  • @flight23magic32

pippen might have done that too with his foot behind the line. but that's not the point. that one foot distance is not much of a difficulty for these athletes. jordan freethrow dunk in 87 and 88 are the best among all because of his elevation, acrobatic move of his whole body in the air. this one is just crappy. and i am not impressed by griffin's winning dunk either, it really has no style in there. the elevation is not that impressive either.

  • @popeyeisgood Yeah...MJ's AIR JORDAN is aesthecally more eye pleasing and also let's not forget that he dribbled the ball til he hit the ft line...I think that's more difficult than just running with the ball...
