I hope that the experience didn't dilute the meaning of the words for the poets that said them so many times that day. For me ... saying those words is usually something I work up to, so it'd be hard to hear it from a stranger and take it sincerely. Then ... if I begin to believe it's insincere, then it hurts a little. Then I block it. I don't know how I feel about the exercise ... we need more love in the world, certainly! But we need it to be real.
we were real. yes, it was at times a bit of an acting exercise but yes the majority of the time we summoned mature love and conveyed it calmly, evenly and truely. I was near tears most of the time precisely because I was letting the "I love you's" into myself.
