@PAFCdave Thanks. I was a fool for not noticing. I din't figure out until I downloaded their music, wich I never favor but I'ts virtully Impossible to buy a Stone Roses album in Venezuela. Still, Love spreads anywhere.
@Allrightteam yes but no beatles album can touch the roses debut apart from revolver which is a classic, the stone roses will be remembered forever, doesnt matter about hits.it was their legacy and what could have been, and probs started one of the biggest youth cultures since the sixties in britain, with the help of acid house i suppose.
EVERYTIME I hear Gareth Evans say he's the best I want to shoot him in the ass. Who in their right f*ck*n mind has a band sign a contract that includes 7 albums?! The music buisness is at it's worst these days if you ask me. It's all about money, they treat bands like chickens. It's like known to be bad too and is just accepted as normal. Bands being told not to take it seriously, no matter how much blood and sweat is put into their music.
The Parisians and Dirty Jacket diserve a record deal even if they don't have the sound of the moment. The sound of the moment isn't as important as these two bands...
Do you see the irony of criticizing Factory for being arty, whilst being influenced by a guy who's partially a poet and whose lyrics are analyzed? Someone let me know if I'm right or if Noel's statement went over my head.
Looking back now its easy to see how good the second coming really was. After such a good first album what ever they released was gonna struggle to compare. I love the roses and nothing has come close ever since. How cool did they look the first time i saw them on TV man. I feel sorry for the kids these days who have to put up with shite like N-Dubz and all that crap.

Same here. Love them, one of the best bands ever. But still no beatles. If they had made 5 albums like their first they would have been bigger than the beatles.

also, that fucking dull noel gallagher with his 'refreshingly honest ' opinions just comes accross as being an annoying little nerdy bullshitting prick now to be honest.hes a has been -and a lot more of a has been than michael hutchence was by the way.he's a boring unoriginal has been.he hasnt broken any new ground or done anything original with the oasis music, hes just lived off his tiresome gobby routine and beatles rip off songs
oasis are not on the same planet as the roses although they both only released great debuts and collapsed the roses were a totally fresh original band that still sound amazing. oasis were not at all original but cleared the cobwebs and briefly shone. note i use the past tense for oasis they havent been of any importance since defmaybe
I don't understand people like you. Definitely Maybe was a great record but Oasis have put out a shitload of solid material. I love their newer material in addition to the older stuff. And please refrain from replying by calling me a newbie or any silly term. I've been an Oasis fan since they came out.
yes there would have, do you know how the stone roses first thought to be a band? they were jamming at college in their dorm and ian actually played bass, he then tried singing and mani then got taken in to play bass. when they first made there demos they called themselves "The angry young teddy bears". this is ALL TRUE, dont believe me? download the stone rose 20th anniversary podcast on itunes and listen to it all. dont speak out your arse if you cant back yourself up :)
Funny how manchester is so proud of the Roses, and yet they turned their back on manchester. In the same way Lennon left Liverpool airport(now ironically John lennon aiport) and never came back
cos like it or not... he helped to promote the roses on a BIG scale, who got em the deals, who did the flyers? who got em gigs? talent alone is FUCK ALL without the right promo n connection.
1989 was the best year of my youth. Every day the news was amazing, Berlin Wall, etc, I fell in love, and we two would go to the International and International 2, see the New FADs, just driving round to check out the Strangeways riot was great. I well remember the Stone Roses graffiti, it was everywhere. My hometown, hippest in the world, and I was only 21. Wow it was top
I am soooo jealous!!!! I am 21 now but I sooo wish I was 21 in the 89!!!...and I am neither english....oooo it's all wrong with mee!!! eheh!! I would have liked to see the stone roses live!

The second coming isn't that bad. It's just that were away for 4 1/2 years. In that time we had shoegazer, grunge, trip-hop and then britpop.

also, that fucking dull noel gallagher with his 'refreshingly honest ' opinions just comes accross as being an annoying little nerdy bullshitting prick now to be honest.hes a has been -and a lot more of a has been than michael hutchence was by the way.he's a boring unoriginal has been.he hasnt broken any new ground or done anything original with the oasis music, hes just lived off his tiresome gobby routine and beatles rip off songs
chrisjoneschrisjones 2 years ago
Don't remember asking your opinion.
Didn't ask you 'to be honest'.
Two sentences in and YOU sound dull.
Why dont ya go away and have a pee in your beer.

oasis are not on the same planet as the roses although they both only released great debuts and collapsed the roses were a totally fresh original band that still sound amazing. oasis were not at all original but cleared the cobwebs and briefly shone. note i use the past tense for oasis they havent been of any importance since defmaybe

I don't understand people like you. Definitely Maybe was a great record but Oasis have put out a shitload of solid material. I love their newer material in addition to the older stuff. And please refrain from replying by calling me a newbie or any silly term. I've been an Oasis fan since they came out.

Oasis are the best band in the world.

Liam has based his whole act on Ian Brown and Noel wishes he could play guitar like John Squire.

The Stone Roses are one of the greatest,Their debut album proves that,Without them there would be no Oasis or The Verve,Ian Brown is god

yes but without the beatles there would no stone roses no oasis, blur, the verve ,etc
xxxsebastian 2 years ago
yes there would have, do you know how the stone roses first thought to be a band? they were jamming at college in their dorm and ian actually played bass, he then tried singing and mani then got taken in to play bass. when they first made there demos they called themselves "The angry young teddy bears". this is ALL TRUE, dont believe me? download the stone rose 20th anniversary podcast on itunes and listen to it all. dont speak out your arse if you cant back yourself up :)

Funny how manchester is so proud of the Roses, and yet they turned their back on manchester. In the same way Lennon left Liverpool airport(now ironically John lennon aiport) and never came back
interesting

1989 was the best year of my youth. Every day the news was amazing, Berlin Wall, etc, I fell in love, and we two would go to the International and International 2, see the New FADs, just driving round to check out the Strangeways riot was great. I well remember the Stone Roses graffiti, it was everywhere. My hometown, hippest in the world, and I was only 21. Wow it was top
