  • they should've gotten bin laden

  • all I can say is COOL!!!!!

  • Здорово бородатым ввалили,так им и надо! Наши спецы самые подготовленные,что доказано действиями в Афгане и в Чечне!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I see AMERICAN truck there burning , THAT is how USA spend their taxpayers MONEY.

  • in soviet russia, terrorists get ambushed

  • VDV for the win.

  • to bad we dont fight like this

  • good job guys!!!

  • from what discovery documentary is this taken?

  • SIgn... back in the cold war days both side only saw these nation as pawns in their giant games, but after cheneyya and afghanistan it seems our ego as finally came back to hunt us...

  • in soviet afghanistan spetznatz amubushs you

  • look at us marines.. they are not only used on the sea but also for ground operations

same with russian vdv they are not only paratroopers, but they are also used like regular troops

btw those in this video are not vdv but gru soldiers

they're called speznaz (speznaz translated into english = special forces)

GRU for russia is same as BND for germany or CIA for united states

  • @gazakind In fact Russia has marines too and they aren't used at sea only.

These guys are not a 'GRU soldiers', not even a specs, just a recon company every Soviet regiment had. GRU is not the same as a CIA. the KGB was an analogue. GRU was a strategic military recon.

  • @zipacna1980

us marine corps are a separete army..

and they are used like a regular ground force

in russia not.. how can you compare that ? i cant get it..

in russia marines storm beaches... but they dont get send into a war area by plane.. us marines does...

where do you get your information from?

in russia, the us marines job is done by ВДВ or the appropriate Спецназ force

  • @gazakind In Russia marines are part of Navy, true. What wrong with my info? USMC in terms of command structure is a part of US Navy too, thus a separate military branch. They are responsible for an expeditionary operations. USMC is not = VDV or airborne. US has a dedicated airborne units as a part of Army with similar functions as Russian VDV.

  • @zipacna1980 you missed the point

  • @gazakind The USMC fall under the Department of the Navy. They are not a separate military branch, they are a branch of Naval personnel. Corpsmen are Straight Navy though. Its all very confusing really, I have no idea why they did this, its just makes everyone confused.

  • @gearbox011 the U.S. constitution read it it says literally, army and navy. they used to put air force in the army

  • @gazakind Looks to me like those are VDV or DShB guys. And Russian Marines been used for more then storming beaches. They fought in Chechney for one before that they were in Angola and Vietnam and few other place's.

  • @darkon112 russian naval forces to what you expect if you talk about naval forces..

the russian all-round one is the ВДВ

  • NWO

  • It`s 173 bat. 22 brig. (Qandagar). Special force of GRU. Not VDV.

  • Looks like it truth. In this force served my sambo trainer, ill ask him maybe he is on this video)))

  • Russia soldiers Can show best result in the world ,

  • In Soviet Russia soldiers ambushing Teleban:)

  • And in the normal World the Taleban abush the others :D! Good comment !!

  • Considering age, dress, arms and behavior of these boys they aren't specs but a recon unit any regiment had there.

  • u r a dik

  • very nice to see soviet boys take care of islamic scum ! too bad the western idiots supported these mujahadeen animals. Now american boys have to continue the job that the soviets started in the 1980s.

  • As an American i have to say, it is sad but true. The US supported the terrorists in thoes days. We saw it as a way to hurt the USSR as they did to us with the war in Viet Nam. Supporting the islamic radicals came back to bite the US in the ass.

  • USSR supported Northe Vietnam. America supported Mujahadeen in Afghanistan. Vietnam didnt come back and attack USSR. Russia and Vietnam are friends. Also even the United States and Vietnam have good relations now. But the terrorists funded by US came back to hit this country on 9.11

Soviets warned Americans in early 1980s what it might lead to. No one listened. Now we have the Islamic plague spreading around the world.

zbigniew Brzezinski is a scumbag, he will end up in hell.

  • 100% agreed. Hind site is 20/20.

  • At least Soviets supported Vietnam for communist ideals. What ideals and beliefs do Afghans and Americans share? Absolutely nothing. One is a modern society and the other is a stone age one. Americans should have supported nations and people that are more related to them ideologically and culturally, like South Africa and Rhodesia!

But they never did. Makes me sick to my stomach.

  • We suported the people of south Viet-Nam as they were a democracy. Much like the soviet support of the north. We did not have as much common ground with Rhodesia an south africa as you may think. Neithe nation was a full democracy as the jungle bunnies could not vote. The jungle bunnies went communist and gained support and weapons from the USSR. AFter Viet Nam it would have been almost impossible for the US to go to war anywhere, because of the viet nam debacle. AS i can see old hate dies not

  • @Spetznaz24 Canada does D: does that make us ok?

  • @Spetznaz24 the ideal that soviet russia is fucking evil for invading a country far more evil than them to spread thier evil disease of communism, the enemy of my enemy is my friend

  • @Spetznaz24 the Afghans and US did share a common belief. their hate for the Soviet Union and Communism. ;)

  • @DESheffield2nd thats not true, prior to the soviet invasion, the Afghans got on well with the USSR.

  • @PowderedAsh Well duh. then y'all invaded. most people tend to get along better when not being invaded. lol

  • @DESheffield2nd well yes, but im saying that they had more in common than just a hatred of the US.

  • @PowderedAsh agreed.

  • @PowderedAsh

actually it was the afghan government asked the USSR for assistance agaisnt the Mujahideen

  • @joseaca Well yes, it was not the whole of Afghanistan united against the USSR, it never is with these situations (like the vietnam war, another commonly used comparison) but i assume the afghans would have rather had this agressive super-power not occupying their country.

  • @PowderedAsh

well of course, it would be foolish to think all of afghanistan supported the soviet presense or that none of them was supporting the Mujahideen but my point was, reality is rarely black and white

in retrospect though, the soviet were doing the right thing, maybe not for the best reasons though

  • @joseaca i agree. I saw a recent news report, they were interviewing some Afghans, questioning them about the difference between the US and Soviet occupation in Afghanistan. They said they preferred the Soviets better: 'at least they built things' was the translated caption.

  • @PowderedAsh

i just hope those poor afghan fellas will know peace someday

  • @PowderedAsh Interesting, last time I've heard was that US/ Soviets were no different; except US soldiers are a little bit more snobbish.

  • @HDNighster1 well, im just reiterating what i heard. Interesting though, isnt it? decades apart and yet the afghans still feel the same about them. I guess when you live in a country that has been invaded so many times, you learn to 'sit on the fence'

  • @PowderedAsh Agree. well said. As I recall, current issues began with the communist take over of the gov't 1970's. The new gov't tried to instill collectivism of land. The land has been occupied and owned by warlords for thousands of years. It didn't work. Civil war began with Soviet intervention not out of free will. But compelled to. Then the rest of story.

  • @HDNighster1 yes, the rest is history i suppose. Its stupid really that any external gov't thinks they can just drop a democracy into Afghanistan, and 'pop!' there is peace. Afghani's know better than to believe that any gov't installed by a foreign force will succeed.

Best left to those Warlords if you ask me. They seem to share a better relationship with the elders of Afghanistan than the Soviets did or the Coalition forces ever will.

  • @PowderedAsh agree. We were compelled to go into Afghanistan. Events were taking place long before 911. Bin laden had declared war on US in 1990's and has raided us on multiple occasions. We fell into his trap. We are winning battles. But losing the war. His strategy is working.

  • @Spetznaz24 yeah now look at the soviet union, oh wait they fell 20 years ago...dumbass

  • @Spetznaz24 well the real reason why soviet union was there, and why usa supported them, and why the usa want there at all cost is cuz the country has a rich ground... important resources are under the sand, and the usa did not want soviet union to get it, and now they want it!

  • @Spetznaz24 LoL dont think the soviets were better thats only for propaganda use.

  • @Spetznaz24 you are an A hole you know that how dare you say that how dare you

  • American soldeirs that fought there are still branded as war crime soldiers.

  • the soviets warned the US?

  • It is our special troops kgb or special troops gru

  • Commentator said they are soviet airborns

  • Looks like soviet airborn special forces...)

  • Paratroopers in Russia are called VDV. Theyr elite forces. Not sure if u can call it a "spesial" force.

  • So what? It is spetsnaz VDV.. VDV had their special Investigation and diversion squads...

  • there's VDV and there is CnH BDB that is specnaz VDV, Kaskad.

  • Strange to see russians winning a gun battle with afghans rather then getting owned by ambushes and ieds like in most videos.

  • lol, like the americans get ambushed in Iraq every day?

  • it's just Soviets were busy doing good job ambushing and didn't have time to film (and money to buy decent video camera)...muja on the other hand, supplied by americans filmed those easy pickings they dared to ambush...take a look carefully what did they ambush: supply trucks, single recon vehicles...did anybody see them taking on a parachute company/battalion/regiment...on moto-infantry...that's just would too much heat for operator :)))

  • Their idiotic tradition is to keep all the documentaries in secret. As for afghanis, for all their bravery, if they tried to ambush any relativley large soviet military unit even from ambush, they'd get vaporised, because it was a real war, not Rambo movie.

  • I believe, english speaking journalist.

  • who filmed this?
