"Jimmy you forgot your sandwiches" Nice shiner on that guy's left eye... brilliant level of detail, wonderful sense of humor... must say though as much as i love the suits and the hair cuts, when the Rockers flash by on their thundering motorbikes, like the dark horsemen of the apocalypse... well let's just say there's nothing like good old british iron. Make mine a BSA Gold Star.
Thanks Neil118 for posting this I moved to Aust in 81 as a Mod and although a small scene over here and young in its roots it was still a passionate one. So missed out on seeing this. KTF

I love my people but how my peers could ever find driving around on a scooter in vogue is beyond me. And all that bike with all the lights must be the friend of Dorthy edition?
The fella with the big hooter who shouts 'Jimmy, you forgot your sandwiches' is Guy Joseph, a very well known chap on the SE London Mod scene. A great DJ and top fella.
A very authentic ad, back in 1981/82 that was all about SE London on the day of a scooter rally. Brilliant days! sigh.
Although your input is amusing, we've had comments from inteligent people here, so I hardly think we need the 'learning difficulties' angle on it! Ta anyway.
I thought I was having a laugh too! Maybe I'm not as funny as you. While we're on the subject though, do you remember Panda Pops? They were great too eh?
True, rare to find now. But you can get them at this website Century Novelty. That's where I got mine. They're also available at this website Hippie Shop. They're very cheap too.
A few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said,"Take the kids and get out of the house. We'll call the police, we don't have a clown statue." The "clown statue" is really a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this letter on to 10 videos tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand
I've played this commercial over and over again. There is something about it! As a Yorkshire scooter riding mod in the early eighties, I can completely relate to this commercial and the atmosphere it creates. I'm now 43, but this commercial takes me back 25 yrs.
I'd have to say Canada, friendly people, every thing's cheap...if fact it's just better in general. Although I miss some things about home because I grew up with them :)
I was one of the rockers - got paid £120 for two days and you can't even see me in it. Me and my mates stayed right at the back and arsed around while all the wannabes fought to get their faces seen - hwa hwaa! The mod guys were a nice bunch actually, especially the one with the pretend black eye.
VERY cool!!

This ad is from 1999...and to tie in with the ad, Lucozade sponsored the reader's photo pages of Scootering Magazine for a good few issues.
Love the ad, thanks for posting it!

I remember those "Orange Flavoured" drinks sold by the woman with a tray round her neck in the cinema during the interval.
They used to give me asthma and had a straw with a point like a hypodermic syringe.
Whufc1977 3 years ago
i know this comments old, but it had me p**sing anyways!... asthma dinks and hypodermic straws! massive!
