  • Dionne is a hot mess, but there is not dispute that she put a mark on pop music that truly is "elite"... She was a vocal combination of power, pureness, and range. Many may not realize that Dionne possessed a three octave vocal range and of course there is NO dispute that her songwriters understood her ability to make songs haunting, personal, and living. When you listen to the entire Warwick compilation - you will be hooked... completely! Thank you dear Dionne!

  • @vhudspath LOL @hot mess... I wouldn't be so harsh lol even though its amusing. But I do agree with your description of Dionne's abilities. She is amazing.

  • Very nice versions of those songs. Love It a lot...

  • This album just goes to show, no one can sing

DIONNE except DIONNE! She is the BEST--past,

    present, and future!

  • that was the problem with Dionnes career she hard headed, think she know everything and she don't she's a singer a good singer, but a bad business lady, and she need to keep her son away from the studio.

  • wait a minute I bought this, and it sucked like you would not believe, I actually sent it back to the record company, and asked for a refund, as a musician and producer I was pissed....it was awful. and she need's her make up, wait a minute no...I bought dionne does dionne...i'm glad i didn't buy this.

  • CHEESY!!!

Love Dionne, but what was she thinking with this project?

  • you gotta eat....she do to

  • love this woman!

  • dont mess with you hits dionne orig songs better your son is so cute x

  • The CD is terrible. Reba, Wynonna and Cyndi were the highlights of the CD. The production of this album was terrible, but I suspect that was the work of her son. I love Dionne, but was extremely dissapointed. Did anyone wonder why none of these were performed live after the release of the album????

  • Listen,MrTristanMacLaine. This woman Dionne Warwick is so incredibly talented and such a beautiful spirit, who cares about your embroidery?Vanish!

  • I completely agree! She is amazing! However her live performance of the ABBA song and this album were a hot mess. I absolutely love Dionne, but that doesn't mean I can't be honest or share my opinion. Two big flubs with her lengthy career is truly no reflection on her talent. However I hope that as she gets older she can bow out gracefully.

  • I think you don't know nothing about music.

  • Wow... your english is stellar...... Learn the language, then argue my knowledge of music.

  • Thank you, son of bitch (stellar!)

  • That Lady is fabulous ok. With that voice, talent, success she doesn't need to dress up everyday for you people she is already a queen. You all better walk on by, But I will say a little prayer for ya. With her reputation she has shared an unlimited amount of music with todays younger crowd and If thats not love then I'd rather be lost or wrong with Mrs. Warwick

  • Dionne should have dressed up for the promo of her 2006 CD. The 66 year old singer needs to know that her ball cap with no makeup look ain't cutting it. She should have gone with the image she has on her CD cover. The picture is beautiful. She is made up and coiffed like the diva she is.

  • LMAO!! She looks like she'd be sleeping on a bench at Penn Station. She most definitely should'a dressed up for the promo.

  • Cyndi Lauper and Dionne together? AMAZING!! Love them both! Great album!

  • gloria estefans version of "walk on by" is great! and i love the orginal version of dionne! these two great woman rocks!

  • Dionne's Back on the Charts !

    From Billboard Magazine's Chart Beat

Dionne Warwick's "My Friends and Me" enters Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums at No. 66. If the album can build sales over the next few weeks, it's possible that we'll see it enter The Billboard 200. If it does, it will be Warwick's first entry on this tally in 16 years, since "Dionne Warwick Sings Cole Porter" went to No. 155 in 1990.

  • Dionne should have dressed up for the promo of her 2006 CD. The 65 year old singer needs to know that her ball cap with no makeup look ain't cutting it. She should have gone with the image she has on her CD. The picture is beautiful. She is made up and coiffed like the diva she is.

  • I agree...I am not sure why she started getting so uber casual about her dress in public appearances...it's something that started in the 90's. Maybe she just doesn't care.

  • Oh, and I do recommend the CD

  • Production not the best, but the CD is good. It is growing on me more and more!! Dionne is no longer a youngster; however, I think she is handling what she has left of her voice pretty well, even though I wish it was like it was from the 60's to the early 90's. Dionne will always be the best in my book and a legend who has nothing to proof.

  • So can anyone tell what exactly EPK means?

  • Electronic Press Kit = EPK

  • Thanks

  • Dionne is great with maturity and the voice a little deeper. She still sings circles around these singers of today. I love the CD and I am recommending it to everyone I know.

  • there's no one but dionne! i'm just glad the younger generation will be able to discover her music thru this cd. the concept is good actually. interesting collaborations with cyndi and mya. (i'm just glad she didn't collaborate with britney spears as reported earlier.)

  • "Some of the finest female singers of our generation."

    Gladys? Yes. Cyndi? Yes.

    Lisa Tucker? NO. Mya? NO.

I was so disappointed with the collaborations on this album... Couldn't she have chosen singers that are actually on her level? Liza Minnelli? Bette Midler? Patti LaBelle? Diana Ross? Tina Turner or even Cher?

  • Patti and Aretha were suppose to do the cd but again scheduling issues as Dionne said prevented the ladies hooking up. Olivia Newton John and Gloria Esetfan are no one hit wonders.

  • I'm excited about Message to Michael! Cyndi = greatness.

  • Dionne is a great artist and she is always been capable to surprise audience and critic but with this last release she did not add anything new,the songs offer bare arrangements and total lack of inventivity,it is a shame cause from Dionne you expect more than recicliyng material with the collaboration of mediocre/outdated/uncool artists and scarse production.

  • CYNDI ROCKS!

  • i LOVE Mya rendention of CLose To You.

  • Funny, because I bought it yesterday and I'm actually quite saddened by her voice. The duets are great and all, but her voice is a tragedy as it is now. The first couple of reviews of the CD haven't been glowing, all pointing towards Dionne's frog-like croaking voice. I love her, but there comes a time where you have to acknowledge the truth, and the truth is that her voice is GONE. ;_; *Cries*

  • I was afraid of that. Of course the initial reaction of a fan is excitement when you hear of a new release, but after I saw her on American Idol and Celebrity Duets...in any case, the legend will remains. All voices eventually fade away.

  • We are in 2006 it is not the voice that counts but the songs.

    Take care

  • Didn't listened this CD yet, but went to her Show in my town months ago, and was absolutely amazed with her voice. So much better than in the CDs she has recorded 10, 15, years ago...

Maybe this new CD don't make justice to her voice...

  • The hell it's not the voice that counts! For a SINGER, the voice counts, darling! She's not going to get up there and MIME, for God's sake. At any rate, for a 60-something chainsmoker, I still think she sounds good. However, I personally am disappointed in how the CD came out.

  • very nice to hear dionne and her son talk about the new cd. i have it. i love it. great job dionne (and all your girlfriends)!!!
