Just think about it. If I produce one and others produce 9, for me to grow to 90% of market share I need to produce 81, so that total production is now 90, and my 81 is 90% of that, and other production is 9, or 10% of the total.

Just pointing out that, although it may be open and easy to obtain drugs in Amsterdam, it is still an illegal act. So you don't need to convince me that the war of drugs is a farce and a mess. Countries with legal drugs have less drug use per capita IE Amsterdam. Addicts go to rehab, not to privately owned prisons owned by Dick Cheney.

Also, Amsterdam only tolerates soft drugs such as pot and mushrooms and some others. Hard drugs like coke, lsd, pcp, etc is not tolerated at all. However, for any drugs (other than prescription drugs like from a pharmacy) you can be fined and/or arrested in Amsterdam at the discretion of the police. It is a myth that drugs are legal in Amsterdam.

@elitistnot "is not tolerated at all" is bullshit. I just got back from Amsterdam in March. Just because it's not legal on the books doesn't mean the police harass the public over it. You can get anything you want in Amsterdam & get as fucked up on it as you like. 99% of the police look the other way. Drug use is not a serious epidemic there like in the US. Decreased scrutiny of drugs lowered the public's want of doing it as much, especially the youth, because it's now lost it's taboo. It works.

@syko52 - Yes, the police look the other way. But go out and act like a fool on drugs and see if they look the other way. I've known many people who had a good time there and some that did not being fined or arrested. Tolerated does not mean legal.

People don't act "go out and act a fool" on drugs in Amsterdam because there isn't a huge influx of dumbass kids running around shoving coke up their nose. It's not the "cool" thing to do. There's no stigma. You stated there was no tolerance and that's simply not the case, & they have a safer, less addicted community than the US does.

@syko52 - I meant legal tolerance. Sorry, if that was confusing. Yes, it is tolerated in the sense that you can buy it, use it, etc. I meant in a legal sense if they chose to, they can prosecute as it is not legal. Perhaps, I didn't make myself clear. I hope I have now. Anyway, I happen to agree that decriminalization is probably a better path to take. But I would prefer to see it done cleanly; as legally instead of illegal but tolerated.

@elitistnot To that I agree as well. I truly believe, through common sense & logical reasoning, that drugs are being kept illegal in the US to benefit the corrupt. Many bad ppl are making money off it. The feds collect tax dollars to "fight the war on drugs", while the banks & corrupt businesses make profits laundering the money, while the industries like lumber, petroleum, (& plastics), big pharma, alcohol, & tobacco propagandize marijuana to protect their $. You just have to follow the money.

@otochari Users are going to use whether it's illegal or not. It makes no difference to them, hence why they're using now & it's illegal. It's been proven in other places that legalizing it doesn't increase the amount of users. It just takes control away from those underground markets run by drug cartels. So these are your options: You can leave killers out on the streets running it or you can legalize & collect tax revenue while stopping the violence currently linked to it. This is an easy one.

When Alex is talking about the IPhone only letting him do 10 minutes of video, it's more than likely because of the file size. It happens on all digital video cameras that I have used, especially HD because the files are so huge.
Most of the time when a digital video file reaches 2 GB or so it stops on a video file and starts another one. This is usually to prevent the file from getting corrupted and losing the whole data.

It looks like we taking over the drug trade. We are occupying Columbia, Costa Rica and who knows what other countries in South America. We maintain protect the heroin trade in Afghanistan. The ATF is forementing drug gang violence in Mexico by supplying guns. And in the U.S. suppying them to the gangs we are using to kill or other gangs. I guess we are trying to ensure that the blow keeps flowing so we can incarcerate more stupid users and dealers.
