This is beautiful. I've been so upset about Paddy over at the WV. A friend said I might like to see this. I am so sorry for your loss. Phoenix was exquisite. I know she will always live in your hearts as Paddy will for me and many others.

@27Noodles59 Thank you for your kind comments... her death was so sudden. We will always remember her. There is a lot of tragedy in the lives of wild animals. We see only a small portion of it on the live video.

I just learned about Phoenix. I'm sadened to say the least, but I kinda expected something happened. I've been looking daily at the webcam wondering what happened. I watched for the first time shortly after she was born and watched her daily in amazement. I miss her, but I'm very grateful for all's efforts in bringing this into my home.

I never knew about this nest until I had read the sad news on the Rochester Falcon site....I am in tears watching this now...the sweet little one...that sweet little voice and the parents were so loving. Dear little Phoenix, now you are residing with the Angels in a better world where you are no longer sick or hurting....I know that your sweet spirit is soaring the skies now....My heart goes out to the Hornby Island parents and watchers...She was so sweet and precious..

According to the necropsy, Phoenix died of acute bilateral mycotic pneumonia.  We found out Phoenix is a she.

This is painful, and I'm just one outside observer. Is 2010 the year of disasters and deaths, or what? It was all so pefect, everything was right, Phoenix was verging on fledging, and BAM!

My condolences to all involved, including the parents, who will never know the pain we feel for them. This is a very sad day...

I'm so sorry Doug to both you and your wife - it was a highlight of my day to see how they were doing so I was very sadden to see this news today - I had hoped I just kept missing him for the past few days, that he was out on a flight. Looking forward to next year - lets hope it will be a better one for them.

My heart is broken with the loss of this beautiful Eagle. I was there when he was an egg. Fond memories will forever live on in my heart and he will never be forgotten. He soars now in Heaven with all of the Eagles that have passed before him, he never left the little nest until now and the sky has opened for this little one who was loved by so many. This is the first day I have even been able to come and post.. He was quite a character, my little one.

I didn't know about this site until phoe passed. I am so very moved by this and what a beautiful tribute, such a perfect song that always brings tears to my eyes and watching this, wow powerful. Outstanding job. Phoenix became a part of my everyday life, a very positive part. Who would have ever thought that it would have ever ended like this? A great job of combining almost 3 months of film into a 5 minute tribute. Phoenix, you kept us on the edge of our seats for almost three months and it was a great ride.
