hey I see you got the whole fretting tool kit from stewmac!, im about to get myself some fretting tools, but I just cant decide if getting the complete took kit and hammer the frets, or just get the press insert, and fix it into a drill press with a lil block of wood and a drill bit (getting the entire caul is expensive :O) Is it hard to get a pro-result hammering them?

is there any other (cheap)way to fill the gap rather than super glue? its indeed very nasty to the wood

how do you come to this conclusion? CA glue is one of the most useful things in instrument building! It's fast, cheap, sands invisible, cures hard and virtually invisible when mixed with the wood dust from sanding the same area and when used water thin penetrates well better than anything else. I see no reason to even think about using anything else.

Thank you for posting this videos, they are very educational. I would like to know if the brass head of the hammer produce any mark on the frets.

it does mark them a little bit, but the frets have to be leveled and recrowned anyway, so it doesn't really matter. You can use the plastic head as well.
