If you have problems with a joint than work the ones around it and the blood flow and support it must lean toward the close movement will help heal it faster.
i really wish it would heal enough to stop the pain, when your on codeine and then the pain is so bad you pass out is the time i hate, i once passed out in the middle of a road and the guy said i was having a heart attack because i was grabbing arm that is dammaged (my left elbow)... on the side note, the surgons said they cant find why im in so much pain and the break i had usually leave people a few degrees of movement, i have most on mine back yet i will never be able to fully extend my arm!

i wish it would heal! shattered elbow from motorbike accident 6 year ago, still really painfull now...

Keep working and the healing will come. You can incorporate breath work to the healing movement and it will come faster and easier.
