this is glorious singing...so free, so warm, such gorgeous diction. Don't change a thing. The phrasing...crescendo, decrescendo, sense of internal rhythmic pulse is *ideal*. Bliss. The top note is telling...your voice is going to "grow up" well. There is such drama in that sound. I wish you a long and beautiful career!
Beautiful voice and the high F is quite good. Someone saying a note needs more "chiaro" is really betraying their basic misunderstanding of terms. And any Italian would simply laugh at someone using the term "chiarscurro" when talking about voice. The F is full, and well balanced between brightness and darkness. Very nice indeed.
Brilliant approach to this rugged character. I love the sweetness and the tender approach, how long have you had this? As, a performer who is aiming for something more and different every time I perform a piece I would urge you to go further. The overall concept is understood, granted I'm only hearing you not seeing you (seasoned performer!), but I want to hear the urge for freedom in your voice. Good technique, especially for a young American Baritone, lovely job! Want to hear more.
The whole treatment was brilliantly dramatic, and beautifully sung (high note and all!). This is, after all, from an opera, and you are an actor telling a story through sung emotions. There was truth in this performance... truth will always win on stage. Bravo
Really, very polished. I don't agree that the high note needs chiaro - I am a baritone myself and it sounds perfectly balanced for that part of the voice. I was particularly impressed with how lovely and full the middle voice was. You are an excellent singer, thank you for posting this. It is the best rendition of this aria I have heard so far on youtube.
Your voice is gorgeous. Only the high note needed work -- more chiaro needed -- everything else was SO incredible. I loved the expression on "Then you'll wander ..." and "Bird in a cage." Such great tone and control. Are you really only in college? I'll be watching for you on the big stage!
Really great, I wish you could have been our Bob when we did this.

That is my wife and dog. I didn't have a video recording of this and I didn't want it to just be a blank screen.
