no one can judge Rosewall`s performance in this match as a lack of effort. players of all kinds have bad days on court, some have low intensity at play due to previous match intensity. these are only some factors that affect players physically and mentally Newcombe was just better on that particular day

@goolagong68 yes, it is very unfortunate, but it has happened to other players as well in other tournaments. i m sure he`ll always feel nostalgic about that special place during his career.
