  • hey there mate just wondering where did you get gryzor and lemmings and rick dangerous on cart from. awesome collection mate i've just managed to get all the hardware 464 and 464+ gx4000 and 6128 and 6128+ happy as with it all :).

many thanks mate keep up the awesome work

  • @retrobiggy Gryzor and Lemmings cart I had specially made, the Rick Dangerous one some dodgy bloke on Ebay was flogging it! There was a wave of these bootleg carts a couple of years ago!!

  • Hi man great collection. I collect old retros and have all Amstrads ranges, so I appreciate your upload! The ones I have include 664, cpc472(spanish version of 464) and the pcw range aswell as amstrad laptops! Yep I am indeed a collector I have been for years. I pretty much have all old vintage computers inc dragons, orics, commodores, sinclars, acorns, msx's, sharps ataris, colour genies... Yep got 1 each of em all! Great to see em all in action again as it brings back my childhood memories!!

  • @DJDecks73 Wow that sounds like a great collection. I'm badly missing a 664 (I've only seen on go on Ebay in the UK in the last few years recently and went for quite a bit!!) ... I thought about going after the 472 but it would probably end up in a box or cupboard somewhere due to lack of space as you can tell!

  • Nice, mate, nice... wish I could have them all set up like this...

  • @gryz0r Would the wife allow it? :D

  • @Xyphoe absoluterly not.

  • @gryz0r Oh well :(

  • @gryz0r Yeah, well, not until we win the lottery and buy a mansion anyway.

  • cool collection m8y

  • @retrocomputerkidkris Thanks mate!

  • Happy 100th Xyphoe... and nice collection.

  • @macdeath69 Cheers buddy!

  • Nice collection mate!

  • @psychodraculo Thank you sir!

  • Very nice collection.

Did they make a psu/modulator for the plus computers, like the MP1 module for the earlier machines?

I see so many of the plus's on ebay, but never the monitors.

  • @SteveBenway Ahhh sorry, again saw one of your replies far too late ... are you still looking for one potentially? I can find out for you :)

  • @Xyphoe Not really looking for one. I was just curious to know if such things exist :)

  • Blimey I don't know where to start. As a fellow CPC fan, that is an awesome collection mate. The hardware alone is impressive, would love a 6128 plus. That is a huge amount of games compared to my 200 ish. Chase HQ2?, on ebay at the moment for a couple of hundred quid. That is some mate to pass on all the consoles to you. Great video and thanks for sharing your collection.

  • @ash81b4u Cheers mate ... and yea I've seen that on Ebay and the auction looks dodgy as fuck. Seller has zero feedback, and he's using a pic on the auction which is taken from my gx4000 dot co dot uk site and the old cpczone forums. So that's not a new picture of the box. Doesn't look legit.

  • @Xyphoe I doubt anyone would buy it for the reasons you said let alone the price. Ultra rare as it is. Did you say you were going to do Purple Saturn Day?

  • Many thanks for showing your awesome collection. I really love my Amstrads too and hope to get a 464 plus sometime. Your vids are great - keep 'em coming :)

  • @P5ychoFox Yea just be aware that there's a few old games that might not work on the Plus machines due to some old school keyboard scanning that is incompatible with how the Plus works, there's only a few I've encountered so far that it happens on. Also ... on the few tapes I've tried on my 464 Plus I don't think there's any loading sounds! It was dead silent ... unless I've got a fault somewhere... but was quiet eerie!

  • Really nice Amstard collection, im not to familiar with those console looking amstrad machines, but remember seeing them in currys/dixons etc at the time.

  • @ZXAmiga64 Yea... probably reduced down from £100 to £20 to get rid of them! LOL!

  • @Xyphoe yeah you are right, it was towards the end of their life span, i don't remember seeing any advertising from them back then, but seeing them now they look really impressive,

  • @ZXAmiga64 Well the launch of it was kinda fucked up ... when it was officially released hardly any of the cart games were available to purchase due to manufacturing problems with Amstrad ... by the time (months) the games got out (like the excellent Pang, etc) the GX4000 was already being reduced as low as £50 in Dixons ... a few months later it was seen at £20! What an almighty balls up.

  • @Xyphoe its really hard to imagine the GX4000 being sold for 20 pounds, what a tragedy, it could have offerd programmers a lot, seemingly for a legitimate price too.

Were there many carts released for the thing ?, bah who knows, if it had taken off we might have got tons of ports or remakes from the classic old games we used to enjoy.

  • You have a smashing CPC collection and a fabulous MAME cabinet!

I wish for 100 videos more!

  • @alex76gr Thanks dude! I just hope the repair for the MAME cab controls is easy enough and not costly!

  • Great vid dude. Love seeing all those old school big box 8 bit games!

    Awesome collection =)

  • @CrazySandtrooper Gotta love those old big boxed games!! Something really crap about buying new games in f***ing DVD CASES these days ... what's to make them special?

  • Great collection, I've not seen to many kind words said about the GX4000, but I think the GX and the 6128Plus look like really well designed systems. A game I remember playing a lot was Exolon, which I got free with Amstrad Action.

  • @atombat The GX4000 ... although using outdated tech was still capable of doing some real decent games ... put it 'above NES/Master System' but 'below Megadrive' if you want... but of the 25 games released only 3 or 4 are really worth getting. And to be honest even they don't hold much long term appeal. But the 6128 Plus.... in my honest opinion... the best all round 8 bit home computer ever! I'll probably get shot for saying that tho.... lol

  • Congratulations on your 100th video mate, I must say you do have an amazing Amstrad collection and never seen one with this many boxed games, etc in general... I'm am speechless of all you have, wow = )

  • @OldSchoolNYCGamer Thanks man ... 90% of the disks and 100% of the carts I bought over the last 7 or 8 years I would say ... 100% of the cassettes are the same ones I had as a kid! Thank god I didn't chuck them away or sell them at a car boot sale like my dad was pestering me to do!!

  • @Xyphoe - You really did make the right decision = )

  • Congrats on the landmark - I know they aren't your thing but would be nice to see more 'real' footage such as the actual game box and instructions (etc) before launching into your gameplay.......loved the CPC as a kid so the games from say 85-91 are well and truly up there with my gaming nostalgia :)

  • @bluetonic78 Cool cheers dude ... yea I may make some special exceptions for filming the box and what appears on the CPC, but only really if it's worth doing. See for example the "Orion Prime" vid I uploaded after this one. The problem of filming live is the screen will look very blurry, and you have screen flicker the camera picks up to contend with :( My main focus is always on the longplays though :)

  • Just noticed ... just gained my 100th subscriber! Good timing to go with the 100th video :) I just need to upload 900 more and I'll get my 1000th sub! ;)

  • Awesome, 6128 plus' are getting hard to find. You'll have to do a video of Elite some time Xyphoe, I don't think youtube has a vid of the excellent CPC version!

  • @danjjuk They're very hard to find, I had to wait years till I found mine ... but I wanted it in the original box and packaging. There's a few that crops up from France on Ebay, but beware as they have AZERTY keyboards!!

  • Niiice collection indeed. There is a good stack of rare games in there that id kill my own mother to get my hands one :D

  • @CholoCPC heh... what I'd do for Chase HQ II on cart .... my god!!! Which out of what you've seen there would you consider rare? Apart from some of the GX4000 carts of course.

  • @Xyphoe Well, i may not be the best to judge what is rare (as im not a UK resident). All the plus/cart stuff are pretty much impossible to get. Also the "dudgy" carts may be unique or like 1 in 5. The big box games (especially the disc ones) dont shop up often, and disc games pretty much sell for more than their original price. Of cause price dosnt automaticly mean rare. Like i think i saw a good bunch of AA mag covertapes ranging above 40+ aka the last ones that didnt sell in many copies. But..

  • @Xyphoe .. i spotted: Turrican, Hostages, Prehistorik 2, Elite, Blues Brothers, Double Dragon 3, Prince of Persia, Lemmings, Monty P, Rick D 2, Afterburner, Lotus ETC, Rainbow Island, Myth, Total Recall, Sim City, Friday 13th and is that Turtles Arcade version(s)?. Also may have spotted: Spindizzy, Dynamite Dux, Nemesis, Galaxy Force and Stunrunner. Dont seen many of those often that is for sure.

  • @CholoCPC Yea I would say Prehistorik 2, Elite (Gold Edition), Prince Of Persia, Lemmings, Sim City and Purple Saturn Day there are probably the rarest disks. Certainly they go for more than what you would have paid for them back in the day!!

  • Fantastic collection mate! I don't think I've ever seen as many amstrad games in my life! Nice one mate!

  • @Otouto72 Cheers mate! I think there's a whole other box full of cassette games somewhere too! There's a few bits of rare hardware missing somewhere in my parents loft ... there was a speech synthesizer add-on with custom speakers for better sound playback for one thing which is now extremely rare. I hope it turns up! Sure there's other bits n bobs somewhere too.
