billie joe isn't the kind of guy you would think that would enjoy broadway. but he did a kickass job as being st jimmy. like legit, his voice and stage presence and connection with the audience was incredible. i was at american idiot in january and i met him outside, the legit moment of my life. the best play i ever saw. ever.

In my opinion, if they make this into a movie they should keep this Broadway cast in it. (Like they mostly did with Rent) but let Billie be Jimmy. And they should make it an on stage movie. Where it's a high quality video of the play but without the audience to make noise at inconvenient times. That's just my opinion though.

@TruthBringer14 Well heres the thing: Bille is a great showman and a great singer, mabye even better then the guy who really plays St.Jimmy. Also, his acting skills are about the same... but the real St.Jimmy might have him beaten there. HEres the big thing: Jimmy is soposed to be bad. A little likeable, but a bad guy, edging Jhonny to do the wrong thing all the time. The real St.Jimmy captures this more then Bille does, soley because he's just so likeable. So I don't know what they should do.

its actually already been considered about a year ago. Tom Hanks had shown interest in directing it. is it still a go? i dont know, but its still well in the minds of the dudes of Green Day and they bring it up once and a while that they would love that and r trying to make it a reality
