  • Tracy was brilliant. I've made special trips just to ride his amazing rides. He knew how to do this. All that dark rides are now is boring, fast-paced gore fests that can't compete with Tracy's blacklight paint and shocking surprises.

  • I Was Scared That Something Was Gonna Pop Up

  • i went on this it scared the crap out of mw

  • its a waist of money for me because the hole time my eyes and ears are shut

  • xD Random worker 4:27

  • eventually all of the stunts will be replaced

  • lol whats with the fat guy at 4:26? HE was scary

  • @veward123 rude and disrespectful

  • Great ride!

  • Thanks for posting this - loved this ride when I was a kid! You're too cool thanks again

  • 4:26 Guy lol

  • I do :) I can't tell you how many times I've been on this one. Ah, someone mail me some Thrasher's?

  • Who remembers the old Haunted house that was on the pier?

  • been there for ages never closed down im impressed

  • great! I worked there last summer))

  • Comment removed

  • wow dat shyt wasnt even scary ! lolsz

  • yah i remember this ride! I just rode it yesterday. it was ery bumpy! they really didn't change it much except when you go in again through the top you see a man try to get out of this table thing. i kinda closed my eyes the whole timw too except the first part becuz iwas tired from the waves! lol

  • @WOWboy511 torture chamber? one of my faves

  • Perfect ingenuity but the thing that takes away from the experience is the collage of different sceneries and what not. It's a lot better than some, and still seems to have the old school in it.

  • 4:27-4:29 the scariest thing happens...big fat security guard

  • What a Great Ride! (and I am old skool)

  • Since they re-did it, the hands down best part is the electric chair guy. He's shaking back and forth violently now, jungle music is playing in the background (like rapid pounding on the bass drum), and he screams like "AHGHAOUSAAFUAFADGHAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!," it's pretty sickening.

  • haha i luv ths ride man im goin their ths mundeyy! =D

  • i went on that when i went to oc for a sand soccer tournamentand of courese we were champs. But the ride wasnt scary

  • hey, you went past the rat - he was supposed to jump at you.

  • @erikals2 HaHa, it looked like the Rat flinched, at least!

  • @evilportrait well it appears the mechanical stunts have had their day. Looks like the Rat has quit jumping.

  • how do those carts move are they electric or something

  • @nooloo3000 yes they are - ac current is used to power the carts and a transformer stops the carts so you can get off at the station.

  • Wow! This house was still standing in 1996, over 1 decade since l went as a kid with my mom & cousin. l went to Ocean City, Md. when l 1st moved to Md. at 7. So perhaps l was 8 or 9 when l went with my mom, dad, & cousin.

l remember this house b.c of the weird illusions made with neon & the upside down room. My mom remembered the dirty toilet man.

What memories. God bless my mom & dad.

  • @Sogwa the dirty toilet is still there (it's called 'The Last drop')

  • @erikals2 I’m glad to know that it’s not just still standing but actually functioning & working after all these decades!!

I see you build other haunt houses. Do you do other types of exhibits?!?

I’m with a non-profit (The Circle’s Edge) & we are trying to get a few volunteers together to do this mobile art exhibit. If you or someone you know may be able & willing to help, PLEASE CONTACT ME!

Thanks. The Circle’s Edge is based in the DC area by the way.

  • @Sogwa i dont build haunted houses - Trimper's Rides owns this haunted house - sad to say they're phasing out all the old stunts like the Saw Mill and the Last Drop :-( which is quite a pity because I really like those stunts.

  • lol, is that the battery-powered lamp XD

  • i rode this..it makes me think of that movie DARK RIDE

  • gone on this ride every summer since i was 4.

act like a raging maniac everytime while the people just stare at me and point

    gotta love maryland

  • OMG i love this place! I go here every time i got to ocean city!!!! Hahaha the only thing that scarys me is that guy in the electric chair !!!

  • Hysteria City loves dark rides! Looking for one. Can you help?

Check out our "BUILDING A MONSTER CITY" series on you tube!

  • I remember when I was around 7 I went into this ride with my aunt, and I got so scared I jumped out of the cart and literally RAN back to the doors and I couldn't do it because I was scared so people came in and got me. hahahah.

  • man ocean city is soooo fun. i skated the skateparks and walked the boardwalk but when i saw this ride i was too scared 2 get on.

  • why call yourself notimpressed? CUZ i am impressed!

  • WHO ITS A RIDE

  • I remember when i went through there and i picked the gum off the side and started chewing it lol jk

  • OMG i love this ride. hahahah we went through and were laughing the whole time. Ew you know when you go back inside theres gum all over that door thing gross.

  • @XxXEdwardCullenXx a relic from the bygone days - gum doors - many classic rides had them - including the defunct Rocky Point House of Horrors. There's a walkthrough video of that before the park was auctioned off - shame none of the stunts were working but I got to see the giant bug with red lightbulbs for eyes :)

  • i bin there soooo many times. the gum on the doors are disgusting lol

  • i remember they had one of these types of things in virginia beach too. i guess all the boardwalk towns on the east coast have them haha.

  • i rode this when i was a little kid and every year i see that dude holding the head talking and i wanna ride it soooo bad again. but i guess id just rather swim lol

  • These are the kinds of haunted houses I like! There are none where I live though that are like this.....didn't know they still existed.....looks like I'll be taking a fall vacation next year!

  • Dude, i use to be scared of the guy holding his head talking rofl

  • @dancer4lifelover

Lol me and my friend wanted to jump the fence and grab his head out of his head and run away soo bad!

  • Any one who put's his CREATIVITY, together enough to

actually follow through and make a movie is a

WINNER,excellent! ...wow!..the joy of Halloween. .A Haunted house experience

is the best!...if you are into it, Definately check this out!

it's a movie on you tube called, ENTER DOMAIN HOUSE .

    it's a must see,creepy and scary,as well as haunting.

    "SEE FOR YOURSELF!"...{a ghost}

  • this ride used to be AWSOME!! now its just ehh, whatever. still, its been around for like 40 years and a part of boardwalk history.

  • That was scary when I was 5. Its not nearly as cheesy now...no, yeah. It is. But its tradition to ride it while you're there!

  • dude they took a lot of that stuff outt. like all the good stuff :P i went on it this summerr. hah

  • Thank you so much for this video! I'm 45 yrs old and have been going on this ride for the last 30 years every summer when we go to OC - it's corny but that's why I love it! how amazingly cool to have it immortalized on youtube now :)

  • Cool. The one here in georgia isnt like that. This one sucks. Its fun to ride though.

  • I loved this. Me and my friend were riding this, and she said "At least out heads are clear" and right after she said that, the ginormous bat in the hallway fell down right above her head. xD I noticed that the vampire bat outside isn't there yet in this video.

  • looks cool, but looks too much like the haunted house at knoboles in PA.

  • OMG i got on that and my lil sis cried

  • do you think they shoukd have put the ghost ship stunts inside pirates cove instead of just throwing them away

  • I went on that, pretty sure it cost about $4. The doors are all covered with gum now. haha

  • 4:27

    ROFL.

    Oh, the horror. xD

  • Yeah that dude is fat. OH NO! NOW A LITTLE GIRL JUST WALKED IN! OHH THE HORROR! XD

  • yeah i think they need to add some more stuff to the ride because there spot where there nothing there

  • woah!! I just got back the other day..and I just realized... this has changed SO MUCH... I've almost positive the whole ride is reversed too since 1996... I remember coming outside on the second story from the other way and I'm almost sure the whole ride's speed has been amped up since. and I remember a big downhill section.

  • I love how you can see people eating their lunch in the corners of the ride or just walking through.

  • i loved it i go on it when ever i am there

  • has any one noticed the giant spider in the falling barrel room? it's directly in front of you, cralling over the wall when you first enter the room

  • By viewing this it seems to be a very long ride. I've never rode it or new it existed while I visited a few years back. "I like it" I understand some of the crops were taken out. I'ts a shame especially if they were good ones. I guess maybe some of the kids were too scared? or maybe their parents were! BY viewing this video "I give it a thumbs up"

  • @Paul25051 Wine Cellar, The Crab, Drunken Pirate, Bartender, and the Head Slinger have all been removed from the ride, and more contemporary stunts have gone in their places. Many riders simply aren't satisfied with the old Bill Tracy stunts-they expect much more in this day and age-so the management slowly phases them out each year...kinda' sad! One thing's for sure-when I was little, it didn't matter if it was an old or new stunt-they all scared me!

  • The stunts in this video that have been replaced since 1996:

    1. Witch with broom that "pushes" your car into the graveyard

    2. Girl being attacked by snakes

    3. Seashell demon

    4. Frankenstein Monster (who at one point stood up and yelled "get out of my house)

    5. Mad Scientist? guy

    6. Headless man who "shot" his head at you

    7. Birthday cake scene the car traveled under (best scene)

most of these stunts were the best ones and it's a shame they're gone but luckily we have this video. Thanks OP

  • I rode this two days ago, and the birthday cake scene was there!! You no longer go under it, but it was sitting in there, around the graveyard I believe.

I noticed the stunt was motionless, and was wondering if it had always been this way?

  • Yes. They are just stationary now. They also removed one of the clowns from the scene when it was moved. His chair is now occupied by a discarded Electric Chair dummy on the opposite side of the track.

  • walked by it as well but was not paying the 3 bucks to go on it...maybe someday

  • @MocWonderday Stunt #1 was the Witch Hazel or Flying Witch made by Funnifrite. The mechanics appeared complex but by today's standards they're still good. My favourite was #4 and #5 - a different version of #5 is in the FrightZone haunted house (there's a video of that on youtube). The version that was possibly in Trimpers Haunted House was the one with the mad scientist and his bottles and jars. The other version has the mad scientist over his soon to be creation.

  • I was just on this haunted house ride! Absolutely loved it, even though it's not scary.

  • yea i like to count really how many things are broke and what things are working lol

but its a fun ride get on it every time i go down there

  • 4:27 a guy just walked by in the ride

  • Does anyone remember the walk-thru haunted house that used to be where the Burger King is now? I never went, I was too young...and when I was finally old enough it was gone! My parents always told me bad ass stories about that one!

  • was it morbid manor?

  • It's a shame more people don't appreciate the old school dark rides like this. I am a big fan of them and always try to hit my fair share. Remember, the people and families that own these don't work with a huge budget like disney.

  • @cagxt yeah it is a shame. there is a video game i make dark rides on called rollercoaster tycoon 3. people do classic darkrides, some better than mine.

but my favorite one of these classic dark rides is the haunted house at knoboles.

  • @caseyjoe503 HELL YEA

  • @cagxt this is better than disney, disney's is to silly

  • I think the same guy makes it as the ride Wacky Shack at waldameer

  • I've been on this ride when i was like 10 (i cried)

  • bahahaha so did i.

  • is that fat guy a part of the ride

  • how is this scary nothign pops out at you!

  • Comment removed

  • this was shot in like 1996, now stuff does and its a lot scarier, but stilll not tooooo scary

  • Hey I've been on that ride!!

  • i get on this every summer, and until now i had never noticed how much its changed. kinda sad =[

  • what's sad is it hasn't changed one bit since this video was talken.... 1996. god i love the board walk haha

  • lmao i laughed at that random guy being there

  • he probably got bored and got off lol

  • lol theres probably some old people behind you that fell asleep

  • Lol, I remember this being so much scarier when I was younger, now it looks all kinds of lame.

  • okayy that damn thing wasent scary but i had to go on it with my sister....they needd.......

1:at least one hill or dip..

2:things that jump out at you...

    and..

    3:more scaryier things.....

    all i gotta say is....

THIS WAS A WASTE OF TYME..

  • dude i would be bored it looks old as hell i would want my money back fer real!

  • OMG, We go to O C every may and june sumtimes, but I just went in October and the ride wasnt open! Suxx Cause This is like my favorite thing ever about ocean city, and its only like 4 dollars

  • I went int here this summer. I'm not sur eif the affects are better now or back then. I looked like it had alot more stuff in it. When I went it scared my friend and I once or twice though

  • omg lol i remember this ride i got it in when i was little......omfg i cant believe this thing scared me back then tho!now i look at it and get embarassed on how i used 2 be scared of this thing!

  • not really scary.... *gäähn*

  • this ride gave me nIGHT MaRes!..One of the Most Scariest rides u well ever go on..((jk)) but it was still kool

  • ....... honestly.. its not changed THAT much..

  • It looks a lot different now, but it's still cool. When I first went on it years ago the part with the train TERRIFIED me.

  • i like screamed and closed my eyes the whole time loll. im a scardy cat

  • my grandfather owns the trimper rides. haha thats my moms maiden name

    ocean city = life (:

  • You are sooooooooooooooo lucky

  • the electric chair always used to scare me the most

  • i go on this ride every year haha

it's never scared me, and probably never will haha

  • The Security Guard was terrifying

  • Eh,doesn't look scary at all. but I'm still gonna get on it just for the hell of it!

  • i laughed lol at tolit man every time i go in. and i make fun of my nierbors lol.

  • haha the only thing scary about this ride is how old and crickity it is. lol

i still go on it every year.

    --> O.C. =] Born and Raised

  • i went on this today. so much damn gum on the doors!!! they changed soooooo freakin much of it! my favorite part is the suffocating guy instead of the family dinner when you go down. thanks for posting this. i love it!

  • Scariest 5 minutes of my life. haha

  • haha i wonder what that guy was doing in there¿?¿

  • haha its tradition to put gum on the doors every year i go there

  • this must be in the winter...ussually when you get outside its all loud and crowded. the insides change almost every year...but that guy with the head in his hand never changes. i love that ride! it's so cheesy but i get on it every single year!

  • redead scream at 0:22

  • went on this today. their was so much damn gum at the top door.

  • lmao i know! this must be old becuase it's c o v e r e d now.

  • i love the haunted house but why don't they put old ghost ship scenes in pirates cove insted of getting rid of them

  • at 2:50 where you here laffing, the guy recording that voice is Vincent Price

  • i saw a ghost 4:27-4:28

  • you're right, a lot of that stuff isnt in there anymore

  • thats a longass ride.

  • It's a lot scarier when you are really in it. Trust me. There is a man in an electric chair in it...

  • i always have to close my eyes when i look at the spinning wheel it makes me so dizzy lol

  • they got rid of so much stuff. liek the bat. i miss the bat.

  • Actually, the bat isn't gone, they just work on it in Off-Season

  • I know here in Central Pennsylvania there are few fine dark rides left. Knobels Grove has "The Haunter Mansion", and keeps it's quality by having many non-breakable spooks throughout the ride. I am traveling to OCMD here in a few months and i'm considering to take an updated video if possible.

Oh, and by the way, I forget the name of the headless genetlemen standing in the lobby...some insight would be great!!!

  • His name is Count Wolf Von-Vinderstien.

  • While you are on the balcony, you can hear a little kid say, "Is it scary in There?"

  • there was a guy walking thru at 4:28

  • Actually, he was a security gaurd

  • I love this shot of the HH. What is wrong with the head slinger it did not work. PS love your site.

  • Thanks for commenting. The Head Slinger, as shown in this video, was removed many years ago to make room for the Jumping Ghoul prop from Distortions. It was initially removed because it was broken more often than not, and vandals would continuously grab the floating head for kicks. To this day, this stunt sits behind a Trimper Warehouse barn in West OC rotting.

  • @notlmpresed pity - if it (the headslinger) could be fixed i'm sure it would work again with new mechanics and head etc. If ya put it back behind steel or chicken wire vandals would have a hard time nicking the head.

Great to see this ride is still in operation. What sort of plans are there for the ride in 2011?

  • Thanks be it to both the poster of this video, and also to Bill Tracy. Very happy to see this wonderful piece of nostalgia from yesteryear. It is very Good to once again see the head attached to the whistling mouse towards the end of the video, and also the gum which is still there to this day!. I always enjoy "the falling beam" (the noise heard, but not shown at 2:20), and the disgruntled employee who sits off-track with a microphone warning patrons of "the falling beam".

  • At one time there were 100's of these classic dark houses created by the master of the gendre', Bill Tracy, across America; now only a baker's dozen. Although a great video, you have to experience it to really enjoy it. We lost 2 last year (2007) to the dismay of us haunted house fanatics. Go and enjoy it for yourself while you can!

  • ha dude thats cool

  • theres a person at 4:27

  • tofukid Tracy stunts are so rare I would be surprised if you can afford it...

  • How culd you geta bill tracy stunt?

  • Hey Man That was cool, but I think it is pretty old, is it okay if you update a new one, because I am verry interested to see whats inside it now.

  • i rode this last summer with my little cuzin...it's okay..it stalls alot and stops in the tunnle and when u go upstairs

  • If the park throws stunts into a dumpster, then they must be so worn out or vandalized and not valuable enough to them to be saved or restored. It's a shame that certain members of the population can't appreciate this stuff and vandalizes it for kicks then the park has to throw it out. May the HH live on for more years!

  • oh wow, this is great! My hands down favorite attraction at ocean city! Man, I remember as a kid getting the all day "arm band" and riding this, literally, 30 times. Every year! Great to see others share my passion for it as well. After reading some other comments, I'm amazed that someone owns some of the old stunts in there. I was wondering where they went to last year haha. I remember all those in the video tho...

  • i love it when some kid outside asks "is it scary in there?" (3:07)

  • I have a room full of Tracy stunts. There set up with special lighting and dark light. Are these things worth anything? Are they really very popular?

  • They are only popular and/or valuable to a small population of people. To others, they are junk. Personally, I would pay anything to own a Tracy Stunt. They next person would probably think I'm crazy. Nevertheless, if you ever consider disposing, contact me.

  • THis is the best dark ride video i've ever seen. It's cyrstal clear(unlike other haunted house videos which are dark and blury). Is there anyplace where you can buy old dark ride stunts. I've always wanted a Bill Tracy original in my living room.

  • @danrob8 unless the park is chuckin em out possibly not - if they were going to get rid of the sawmill stunt i'd probably buy it, get it sent to Oz, fix it and make it work again (not likely though with the $50 dollars I used to have in my pocket)

  • this place is so awesome i love to see it every time i go to ocean city and every time i always think what it would be like to have one of those apartment/beachouse things right next to it by constantly hearing the noise. i love this place and i also had a question about it. do they take down that big gargoyle like thing every off season cause some seasons its there and others its not

  • Yup! They usually take it down right after Sunfest (which is in late September) then put it back up in April or may. They do this to save it from the cold, winter elements. It has last all these years, since 1962, so it is working!

  • What happened to the stunts? Where do they reside?

  • Most were thrown into a dumpster. The birthday party and mermaid, although not in their original forms, can be found here and there in the HH. The headslinger, as far as I know, is still in Trimper storage. Thanks for commenting.

  • @notlmpresed that is a sad pity - Trimpers should have kept and fixed them then put them in a glass diorama with a little green button marked 'Press to activate' and a light next to the button which told you when the stunt was active.

  • thanks for posting!

the gags have changed a bit since 1996

but most of the original tracy stunts

    are still there. the "headslinger"

has been retired, though. i believe

    the 'bartender' also. you got

a shot of cliff hudson ducking into a

    maintenance room!

  • Thanks for your remarks! Yeah, I knew Cliff for years. Now, I'm good friends with Scotty, Cliff's son, who has been running the ride since about 2000 or so. Yeah--Crab, Drunken Pirate, Headslinger, Bar Tender, and Frankenstein were removed and replaced with newer stunts. I remember that day Cliff was working on the crab's leg which had fallen off. The crab was located right on the other side of the door he went into. Thanks for looking!
