  • ALTHOUGH I'M A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN (Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches eternal torment. The Bible teaches eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scriptures have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. ~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)

  • Wow, my undergraduate alma mater. What a pleasure to see Genie going to a smaller city like Fargo. (which always demands a grin just from saying the name)

Thanks for posting this, makes me feel all warm inside, and warmth in February in Fargo is a very good thing. :D

  • The uptalking of the the woman who presents Dr. Scott is extremely annoying. Here's the thing: you go up at the end of a question, not a statement. Uptalk makes you sound tentative.

  • Click, click, click....zoom in, zoom out, wobble. Click, click, click....zoom in, zoom out, wobble. Click, click, click....zoom in, zoom out, wobble. Click, click, click....zoom in, zoom out, wobble. Click, click, click....zoom in, zoom out, wobble. Click, click, click....zoom in, zoom out, wobble.

Too much fucking around with the camera for me to watch. Sorry.

  • @SamSlater just listen in the background, best way to listen to lectures

  • Quality issue noted! We didn't tape this presentation, so weren't able to control such factors. But...figured it would be of sufficient interest to post. Note: Parts II and III have been posted.

  • @NatCen4ScienceEd Thank you for sharing this lecture. Eugenie Scott is fantastic as usual!

  • Interesting talk, but the audio-visual quality makes this almost unwatchable. In the future, fix the camera on the speaker, hook up the mic to the recorder, and put the powerpoint slides on top of the footage in post-production (e.g., TED style).

  • Ooh, a Eugenie Scott video! I see too few of these.

  • Eugenie Scott = AWESOME!!!

  • Please shoot the camera man. Hint stay on Genie Scott or stay on the screen and Genie or suffer the consequences. Pleeeese.

  • where is the next part?

  • Ms Scott is amazing. Good work.
