n97 is a way better phone, as its completely balanced phone.

Battery life for example, n97 has a way better battery life than that of omnia. Also n97 is much cheaper. n97 is also much lighter then omnia. It has a much more rigid structure(My friend's n97 works as good as new even after being dropped off from 3rd floor).

Overall, n97 is much better then omnia. And is also $300 cheaper.

And i'd better go for an n900 or iphone instead of spending an additional $100 for omnia i8910

mm I own a nok 5530 & I compared the video it take whit others and i prefer my nok, it have a 3.2 mpx camera, compared whit other cels whit cam up to 5mpx samnsung, sonyericsson, motorola it have better focus and the final picture or video is much better on nok, I yet compare it whit omnia, but yes is slower opening aplications. (I know what is a benchmark, is a hardware performance test, it say how fast in can do, but not how smart is, and is only valid for same software whit diferent hardware)

The n97 got 253?! Man, that phone really is a piece of crap. Nokia lauched the n96 and n97 this year and both are underpowered, buggy and SLOW. Much more so than even the older phones. Speedy Go! reads 451 speedy speed on my 2 year old n81.

i've had n97 for a month and it is really god, camera is good but it has some bugs in deep dark. writing on n97 is exelent. but qwerty buttons are weak. sound is quiet for nokia speed is good, i ve had firmware 20 and it is not special ram memory is max 48 free and some programs and games are laging. screen and touch are pretty good sensors are awsome. wifi is good gps too with garmin tested. but i think Omnia is better I"LL TELL YOU IN WEDNESDAY WEN IT ARRIVES. I have the n97 and its a fantastic phone. however the vibration is shit and the speakers aren't fantastic....i previously owned the omnia i900 which had great features...on paper. the software was cumbersome winMo 6.1 dunno bout the omnia HD but the camera, even though 5 mp, it was fkn terrible the interface was shockingly slow.. please for gods sake dont buy a phone based on what people who dont actually own any of the phones say. its a dumb mistake. i made it and i wont make it again

As I can remember Nokia always had terrible slow own software solution.On any S60 machine,when you install some of the LCG sofware, THEN: - you see dramatic improvement in performance, -you can see what it really can do / how nice and easy it can render things. Nokia always had superior hardware but because of software many people, rightly, prefer other option like iPhone or Samsung (which btw alwas had ingenious software solutions even in their fabric mobile OS-es)

Manged to scam omnia hd from orange so i paid all together 42.09 quid for this phone and it does the job after few updates acc is fixed. I played few months with n97 and it is a good phone does the job as well but i would still prefer i8910. It is fully hackable which means that you can install whatever you want. Java is still messed but hopefully they will fix it in the future. All around both phones are good but omnia is far more superior for what i use.

You obviously haven't looked at the quality of the phones. Sure the i8910 is a 'spec beast'. But which one will last 5 months and which one will last 40 years?

i8910's AMOLED display has a life of 2 years which means after 2 years of usage the screen will be very buggy and the responses will be slow.

Nokia makes great phones. If you want a business/multimedia phone that lasts long, go with the Nokia. Or even a cheap $50 dollar phone will last long.

You're wrong. Since Omnia HD was released there have been 3 or 4 updates for 2 months. The plastic isn't cheap. I had a lense cover on my Nokia N82 but it still didn't protect the lense from dust eventhough I only opened it for making pics. Finally I think that i8910 is better than N97 (eventhough I'm a Nokia fan :P ) because of the GPS which is A LOT faster in the Samsung model and many people need a faster connection. The HD video is just an extra :)
