wow, great song, wonderful entertainer, great voice and looks. do not know this show, i was too young or thought i was too cool for country? lol...i was dumb back then, i was actually a democrat in training....yuch!!!
O.K. people lets remember it was the early 60"s and Skeeters "fall away hair do" was very much in style at the time.Jackie Kennedy had on just like it. (a bit lower) She is also a country western singer and all the country gals Dolly, Lynn, Tammy, Loretta like to wear their hair on the poofy side. Its part of their charm.
hey, sevfest - wait'll you see your own 2011 photos in a few years - remember, the kids of tomorrow will have a real good laugh, too (and what they'll think at the time of say, Lady Gaga, is anybody's guess ...). Just appreciate it, with love, for the saved time capsule that it is; good, honest country people presenting themselves the best they could with what they understood. And much of it was considerable, even by today's lights. Thanks, man behind the screen1!
Her hairdo looks like she forgot to take her rollers out the night before Poor Skeeter LOL she would have better off if she was bitten by a skeeter (Hmmmm maybe that's what happened) but then again at least the song was good.....
@iamrodneyy That hairdoo was the absolute latest and greatest in style .It's fabulous. It took hours of rollers and sitting under the dryer (no blow dryers yet) and about a ton or aerosol hairspray. That hair was so stiff we could sit in the middle of a tornado, and not one hair would be out of place. Now, that was groovy, man.
Such a sad song

Did that hairdo inspire George Lucas to create Chewbacca?

Nice, but melancholy song. I'd be depressed too if my hair and make-up looked like that. :)

The "flip" and "bouffant" do's were popular then. I was 15 when this song came out.
We said the same ("what the..???") of hairdo's from our parent's and Gparent's day.
