  • All very cool. The stove is awesome, and the mod of the perc is commendable, so as an outdoorsman and engineer I salute you, but, as a coffee enthusiast I cringe. You'd be better off with just using freeze dried. Perc is the *worst* method for brewing, bc you're recycling the sour grinds in scalding water. Just rig up a press, it's lighter anyway. But, if you like the results, who am I to argue. Nice design work, cheers.

  • depending on what kind of coffee grounds you use,i usually get 8 heaping teaspoons, and thats enough for 4 cups,i carry 1 with coffee,1 with sugar or other sweetener and 1 with cocoa just in case..and seeing your set up i thought with a little velcro it could easily attatch to your coffee kit on the outside..loved the vid by the way, gave me ideas..thanks...rich

  • For coffee storage I use plastic test tubes with a screw top,i get them at the dollar store, they are sold as refills for bubble toys. Rich

  • @richardrichricky Great idea. How much coffee grounds will one of them hold?

  • Excellent job and mod ! Did you use a specific percolator top or any replacement top ?

    thank you

  • I think i found it on amazon...small universal Fitz-All brand.

    thank again for the inspiration.

  • Very nice. I'm impressed. What does it look like when it's disassembled and packed? Does it pack to a small kit?

  • Nice! That would be so much fun at a camp site. Good one!
