@cobrawhaler Jared, Dont know about bore size? Need to talk with my mechanic about that. As far as cup, very little, if any. Good luck with your boat.
@cobrawhaler Kinda what I alluded too earlier. Props are a little undersized. You can contact the engineers at Veem for specs on the correct size and/or check out the forums on the Hatteras Owners Webpage....I have found them to be a wealth of information. Good luck with the boat.
Thank you very much. they will haul the boat out today for the weight and the prop size......will let you know.....she passes 2300 rpm, starboard was at 2310 and port at 2350......
@cobrawhaler Perhaps the boat is underpropped. This can account for the higher than expected rpms (and slower speeds) May need to go up in prop size if thats the case.
is this the same boss lady that cruises at 23knts, if it pls give me some info on the boat, like injectors, tranny ratio and prop size.....thanks, i seatrialed one today and it ran 16knt cruise and topped out at 20 knt at 2300 rpm
@cobrawhaler I left a long reply but Youtube deleted it. Theoretical speed is calculated by a formula using weight, horsepower, max rpm, prop pitch, and the elusive "prop slip" factor. Something is wrong with the boat you seatrialed. Either it weighs more (waterlogged?), the engines are down on hp? or the bottom/running gear is fouled (barnacles?) These boats should cruise around 21-23 kts @ 1950 rpm and top out around 28-29 @ 2300. Specifics to follow.
@cobrawhaler Boss Lady specs...Weight is 36000 lbs, total horsepower is 1100, 1.5 gear reduction, props are 25 x 27 3 blade Records. Max RPM 2300, Prop slip 10% or less. Plug these into the formula for a planing hull and you will see that the numbers are right on the money. I dont know about the injectors as it shouldnt matter as long as the engines are making full power.
Davidlewismd, what bore size do you have? 11/5? LMK pls
bought 2 props today 25x25 will have them pitched to 27, any cup? Thanks Jared
