Many of the characters Henson performed were retired following his unfortunate passing. Link Hogthrob, Dr. Teeth, and one of my personal favorites Rowlf all got background treatment without the wonderful Henson to perform them.

Henson might be gone, but his legacy lives on and its great to see the characters he played making comebacks again. Look at Rowlf in this commercial! He's awesome!

The Muppets have a LONG history with commercials...even BEFORE Rowlf was created for Purina ads in 1962 (not his first job, btw as the Muppets existed since 1955), they made over 100 groundbreaking and well-loved ads for Wilkins Coffee and have done commercials for countless products since - just type Muppet and commercial in the search bar. Right up there.

@Sirthatguy He used to do meaningful things with his creations, not just comedy. And as to commercials, the first job he got with his puppets was actually using Rolf to sell dog food, and he hated it. To say that this is breathing life back into his creations is a lot like saying that all fanfiction is canon and just as good as the original stories they're based off of. Yes it can still be enjoyable. But this? Eh.... no.

I understand that Jim Henson did a lot of commercials so he could have the money to continue his art. However, now that the Muppets, are owned by Disney, doesn't that make it less necessary? Disney's got a lot of money to back them up with.
