One of the arguments for legalization is that indeed by removing marijuana from those who "push" other drugs, the gateway theory (as superfluous as this theory already is) is reduced or eliminated because marijuana buyers are not exposed to harder drugs.
Government currently supplies a very very small number of patients with medial marijuana and the price is inflated just as street prices are. Patients can often get a personal growing license or have a caregiver grow for them and this reduces the cost significantly.
Because government has made the med-pot program so difficult to access, a number of petients with a legitimate need are forced to turn to the black market which would be eliminated by legalization and regulation. He was accused of smoking and dealing b/c he wrote a paper. The party was asked to come to the school b/c of this incident. the party never once told the children to smoke marijuana. The party does not wish for children to smoke an illegal substance.
