Purely from a visual standpoint, I find the "996" (1997-2005) to be the low-point in the 911 Carrera series because of those weird-looking "fried egg" headlights. I prefer the classic 911 "frog eyes" round headlights, or at least the oval headlights of the current "997".
@Yamtendo I'm not a huge expert on automobiles, at least on the mechanical side, but I know the visual differences between various Porsches simply because I take a lot of photos of cars and I look up each car on Google/Wikipedia when I post them on Flickr just because I want to get the name and model year right in my description.
My favorite porsche is the 993. Maybe it's because it kind of made part of my childhood (NFS: High Stakes), also because of it not having the "fried egg" headlights yet...
Porsche have really gone minimal on the interior styling!
