  • thanks a million man. ask.com is shit!!

  • thanks a lot man!

  • @ionutbreana np. This is like my most popular video. Everybody thanks me for this simple fix. In my other videos I'm trying to fix the government and the nuke mess and the dependence on treasonous murderous d bags for energy and the pharmaceutical industry and the banksters and the mercury in high fructose corn syrup and the plutonium in tobacco... On all that I get barely a peep. But tell people how to unf@#k their browser and it's like you're the f@#ken man. I don't get it, but you're welcome.

  • @danielvincentkelley cause people tend to not care about political opinions, but fixing their web browser is actually useful

  • @Thrust8EX I guess that's true up until policy becomes widely enough and obviously enough destructive of people's lives, for the commoner to realize and react to the political malignancy.

  • Great Video.... Worked For Me....! 100% Working.

  • 100% works

  • It keeps changing back

  • @RoyalSavageKidz You're going to have to uninstall the program that is changing it. Usually it's a browser add on, such as a toolbar. You can uninstall those in firefox by the tools menu, goto Add ons, extensions, look for ASK toolbar or whatever toolbar you installed that is changing it. Uninstall it, then follow the instructions of the video. Also you might be able to uninstall the tool bar from the windows control panel. Otherwise you might download free antispy software called Spybot S&D.

  • Please give me another comment here to let me know how you solved it, k?

  • @RoyalSavageKidz Ohh and yes it was fixed, but I don't know exactly how.

  • thanks! you've helped me to get rid of yahoo search engine and get back google !

  • @4buyers My pleasure man. Anything I can do to defeat that dang toolbar hijacking bullshite! I almost installed the bing tool bar today, as part of some other software I was actually trying to install... Thanks for the tip man. I think I'm going to change the tags on the video to include bing.

  • try turboscout or clusty instead google sucks for more search engines search for anti google search engines

  • it didnt work 4 me!!!

  • plz. help now wenever i open any website something comes up to my mozilla wat to do?

  • @lpuri7 You might goto Tools menu in FF, then goto addons, under extensions scroll the list and uninstall anything that says toolbar that you didn't very intentionally install. You might find something there called shopping toolbar or weather toolbar, but look for everything you didn't intentionally install and then uninstall it. You can look for various applications you didn't intentionally install in the control panel under add remove programs or in vista I think it's called programs...

  • @danielvincentkelley thanks! it works!

  • @lpuri7 I hope you don't mind my asking... What worked? Did you uninstall something (what?) from the control panel, or did you uninstall something from your browser? Or did you download that software antiadware and run that?

I ask what you did here, because maybe someone will come on this page with the same problem and it'd help them to know what you did that worked.

    Thanks for your time,

    Dan

  • @danielvincentkelley i unstalled something from the control panel!

  • @lpuri7 ok, cool, Thanks!

  • @lpuri7 In the control panel installed programs section you'd be looking for anything that might have been installed by your installing free software that included spyware or adware. You can also buy an adware remover and run it on your PC. I'm not exactly sure what your message meant, but I got the feeling you were saying that you're getting pop up windows at every site you goto in FireFox. That's usually the result of installing spyware which sometimes comes bundled with free software.

  • @lpuri7 Usually you can deselect a box while installing the free software, which will prevent your installing the spyware or adware. But if you install it accidentally, usually you can uninstall it very easily. Lavasoft dott com... has a free adware remover. I haven't tried it. But it might work.

  • @lpuri7 Let me know if those suggestions helped or if you're still having the issue, let me know exactly what you're talking about, like type in what the window says on it, especially at the top left in the 'title bar' or if there's an error message or if there's some detail within the window, that will be helpful in diagnosing the issue.

  • the best video ever

  • dude, you smoke a lot of weed don't you. Good video but you seem a bit "off". Either that or you are just an extremely happy guy

  • @seandelevany I don't smoke so much weed. Barely any. I averaged about .1 gram per day for the past 15 years or so. That's point 1, not 1 gram, which still wouldn't even be a lot of weed. Anyhow, I have permagrin for my life going so swimmingly. I got laid crazy much so far in this life. Everybody that tried to kill me I lumped up real good. I tried most drugs. I rolled on E once a year for a decade, one time while snowboarding. I regularly snowboard, skateboard and vert rollerblade...

  • @seandelevany So I guess I have some stuff to smile about.

  • So if by "off" you mean obviously cheerful, then, you're absolutely right. You're also right that I DON'T smoke a lot of weed.

  • Very helpful...I had this problem with AOL Search which btw sucked. This was a quick fix only thing is that it took time to find this video. Awesome!

  • hm, can you put that url into the discription for us please?

  • @deathnight114 Great idea, Ima do that right now. Thanks!

  • @danielvincentkelley Thanks!

Was annoying to have to type that out heh

  • Awesome!!!! :D

  • LIFE SAVER BRO!

  • thnk yopu so much! dude!!! this is what i need!!! 10/10!!

  • thank you this was a helpful video

  • when i go to add ons i click remove then i exit off of mozilla then next thing u know its back

  • Sorry for the delay in responding... I been on the road a few months... The last symbol is an equals sign (=). The last expression in the url is &q=

  • aaaa, I done this before, but nothing!! when i type keyword.url, it shows exactly what you write there, but, when i click new tab, ask comes back!! PLEASE HELP!!!???

  • Maybe you need to first UNINSTALL the ask toolbar. After you uninstall the ask toolbar, THEN follow this tutorial to reset the default search engine.

  • Thanks for this - I rarely used Ask before, but I hate people messing with my computer andI will neverr ever use them again. If more people did this maybe they would get the message - leave my machine alone!!

    Thanks again.

  • thanks

  • Dude thank you for this vid!!!!

All the other vids didnt help at all and urs helped and im soooooooooo happy!!!! I subscribed and favorited!!!!

  • You forgot to add, you can use a program called Hijackthis to remove the ask toolbar and search completely.

  • I only have a little experience with hijack this but was unaware of that functionality. I tried simply uninstalling the ask toolbar but that didn't correct my firefox settings.

  • It's cool.

  • or you could just go to add ons and remove it...

  • Yeah I tried Chrome. It's a lot quicker than IE and about the same speed as FF. I've habituated using FF and I haven't found any great convenience to using Chrome, so usually I just use FF. I found it useful when I want to sign into 2 accounts on the same website though. To do that I used to use IE which is RIDICULOUSLY slow in Vista. Seems like it was quicker under windows 95. Leave it to little squishy (micro soft) to regress a software platform.
