  • I guess a self-baked sponge cake would do the job too... =)

  • @A7laLolitaa Indeed it would!

  • What's the mean of this dessert? mmmm dessertt???????????? mah!

  • "fruit?! that's not fruit!" teeheee

  • Assalam-o-alaikum Titli, I really love your cooking style. It's just to ask if the jelly sets at room temperature, as you haven't showed putting the jelly powder in boiling water as per the instructions, mostly, given on the jelly's packaging.

    Thanking you in anticipation.

    Allah Haafiz.

  • @candy1000000 It sets at room temperature

  • @TitliNihaan Thank you very much for your reply Titli... : )

  • I never normally make my trifle with jelly as I wasnt sure where it was supposed to go and how it was supposed to be layered haha, (i normally add sherry to the sponge too) but thanks to you I can now make it with jelly and make it look funky on top :D

  • how I wish you're my grandmother :-) ... \(^o^)/

  • why do you make such delicios recipes :)

  • @matijasajko1 Would you prefer I did something else?

  • @TitliNihaan could you make a recipe for Marshmallows? :)

i just know you can do it :)

  • @matijasajko1 I already did

  • @TitliNihaan you are the best cook in the world Titli :)

  • I liked that part Too ^^ xD

  • haha im sick but u made me laugh when you said "give it to the birds to choke on"

  • no offense, but that custard....at first, i thought it was macaroni and cheese lol. i never tried a trifle like that before. usually u see it with whipped creams and mousses and mostly really sweet things, you know...americanized. never tried one with jello before

  • @ando1135 My granny made wonderful trifle :-)

  • Would you make chocolate concrete?

  • @xiloveevery114x A pointless pursuit. Chocolate is meant to be eaten, not used for building houses.

  • @TitliNihaan Noo, i meant that school pudding i remember eating.

  • @xiloveevery114x You had a school pudding called chocolate concrete???

  • @TitliNihaan google it :)

  • goed!!

  • I don't think I've ever even eaten trifle. The jello craze in the late 60s/early 70s scarred me for life.

  • You crack me up xD

    Love your recipes <3

  • @TitliNihann where do you learn all of this recipe

  • you can also add a layer of crushed biscuits

  • I gotta say, my Triffle's better than yours, I always make my own cakes for it, and add a layer of milk jelly before the homemade custard, which also has thin slices of banana.

  • @Blossam69 My granny never made trfile like that. Personally I'm not a fan of milk jelly, so "better" is entirely subjective ;-)

  • Birds to choke on.... You're funny :)

  • @TitliNihann the words you say at the beginning sound a lot like maltese. Is it latin or something like that? Cuz maltese (my native language) comes from italian, english and latin. We say it 'Is-sliem ghalikom' which sounds kind of like the one you say when you read it :)

  • @MissXxLillyxX It's actually Arabic, but given the history of Malta I suspect there are some Arabic influences in Maltese.

  • @TitliNihaan yes I know that it's Arabic :P it's just that maltese is so much like it since our language is a mix of english, italian and arabic :P And I can't beieve you replied me hehe ;P

  • hahahah youre hilarious XD

  • she like food "mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm" haha

  • Wa alikoum salam and goedeavond ook voor u!

  • You are just adorable!

  • haha give it to the birds to choke on... you make me laugh

  • Walekumassalam!! :)

  • I'm in love with trifle. I love it so after trying it on Christmas Eve.

  • @TitliNihaan hmm..good idea! thx titli!! gonna try making it in CHRISTMAS VERSION!! ^^

  • jelly= jello ( im from the US)

  • You make me smile :)

  • I'm watching these instead of studying for my finals! Can't wait to finally make all these once I'm done!!! FREEDOM!

  • @nairobia1231 same here ;)

  • Titli, I've been watching for a long time, and I still cannot, for the life of me, figure out what you are saying at the beginning and end of your videos. I am mighty curious - care to explain?

  • @lotsabots Go to the home page of my website titlisbusykitchen com and all is revealed

  • I was under the impression that jelly didn't set properly with pineapple? something about enzymes?

  • @theperfectexceeder I have never had a problem with jelly and tinned pineapple. The jelly sets fine. I am told that fresh pineapple prevents jelly from setting properly.

  • I am hungery Now...grrr grrr...:)

  • omg when you say MM MMM it makes me explode with laughter... EVERY SINGLE TIME! HOHOHOHOHOHO

  • Titli, if I replace the sponge cake with slices of pannettone, will it work?

  • @lilshinodahahn It should do!

  • Auntie Titli! is what you call Jelly the same thing as what we call Jell-O here across the pond? I'm guessing it is, but just want to be sure...thanks

  • @BarleyJack72 Indeed it is :-)

  • Titli, could you use sponge fingers?

  • Titli I have been looking for a recipe to prepare the Triffle, but I have observed that some people add wine, how different could taste it with? which one recipe is considered the most Typical British? I found your recipe very easy to make. Greetings to Scotland

  • @tenvidiosa Some people add sherry, but the recipe I've given here is very typical - sponge, jelly, fruit, custard, cream.

  • YUMMY IN MY TUMMY

  • Hahaha, it literally spells jilly. I love jawi for this reason.

  • hey titli at 3:01 your index finger is bleeding

  • @TheAbs124 It's red food colouring from the bottle top :-)

  • I <3 that you enjoy choking birds; I had fun once throwing cough lozenges at them at the beach this summer...they actually fought over them and ate them like crazy...also, thank you for signing the calendar you sent to Chicago! :)

  • @bellsprouts Glad to hear your calendar arrived safely :-)

  • Mmmmm....trifle. Yum.

  • old school

  • @deeplydeepali Well, yes, my Granny was a bit, er, old school?

  • ...now how to serve without it looking a mess on the plate...

  • @sumli4eva Use a couple of big spoons and a bit of care. If you treat it like mashed potato it'll end up looking like mashed potato. If individual presentation is the thing you are into then make several individual trifles.

  • It turns out to be very beautifullll =0

i love the red and yellow xD

  • It turns out to be very beautifullll =0

i love the red and yellow xDIt turns out to be very beautifullll =0

i love the red and yellow xD

  • I love the sickeningly sweet icing!

  • yum , my mum puts sponge at the bottom , then fruit and custard and then whipped cream :)

  • Instead of food red color could I just use strawberry jelly? :)

  • @6xxxTheOnlyOnexxx9 Of course!

  • Can i make it without custard ? Or will it not work

  • @POZESEDHOBO You could make it without custard, but it wouldn't be trifle :-D

  • the jelly blobs atop the trifle are so uniform

    i am filled with envy

  • Thank you I love it!

  • you made trifle before! you might have thought no one would realize because that was so long ago but you have underestimated your fans.

  • @cecilyantigone I am slowly working through my old videos which have the old theme tune to avoid any potential copyright infringements for the tune in the future.

  • Hmmm yum & I love the idea of using creme fraiche in a trifle. : )

  • Im sure everyone here wanted that iceing XD

  • so hilarious.......HILARIOUS I SAY!!! btw, if i dont want fruits what can i change it with? Not a big fan of fruit..

  • @kristieawesome2468 Hmm. What about bits of Turkish Delight? Or chocolate chips?

  • It looks delicious!! :D

  • I hv some probs w this recipe.. how do i serve it without ruining d design?

  • @zynation It's the same problem as how you serve a roast chicken without ruining it's appearance...

  • Those poor birds...

  • What about unravelling an artic roll, eat the ice cream and scrap the jam off then cutting up that sponge or is it too thin?

  • @Vana1970 Put a few layers of the sponge. The idea is great!

  • @TitliNihaan Good excuse to eat artic roll too !

  • Titli - I'm sure I've read somewhere that using pineapple (or kiwi fruit) with jelly prevents it from setting - but I don't know if that's just the cube-type rather than the crystals you're using here. Obviously you're not having a problem, but have you experienced this in the past?

  • @moogthedog I've heard that using fresh pineapple with jelly causes problems, but tinned pineapple clearly does not :-)

  • "Give this to the birds to choke on" LOL!

  • Titli, you are the Trifle Queen! Your Granny taught you well! That trifle looks lovely!!

  • Titli! what brand food coloring is that? I've been looking for it everywhere!

  • @1JadArdat1 I think it's Morrisons' own brand :-/

  • Oh Titli, you are a wonderful lady!!! - "Give this to the birds to choke on or something" - So glad I've got youtube now, I can laugh a lot longer!

  • This women is crazy!!! Titli i love you :-) kiss from France

  • Would you recommend this to be 'mildly' frozen or heavily refrigerated to thicken it and make it easier to serve?

  • @koztowz If your custard is thick enough it should only need normal refrigeration to make it easy to serve.

  • dctim IM HAVING THE STICKY ICING haha AND a huge bowl of Titlis trifle yummy

  • My heart just jumps for joy when I see a new video of yours

  • hi, love your videos. i've got the same bowl...it's a family heirloom too. this bowl is perfect for trifle

  • I'M FROM SWEDEN

  • That thing called 'custard' doesn't look really nice :<

    What is it??

  • @MissCherielicious It's custard. Thick custard.

  • Czy sponge cake to biszkopt? :<

    :D

  • ; u ; the trifle my granny makes has no custard or cream, when i was little i couldnt even tell what the soft part was,...it had allot of fruit, sometimes alcohol.. *my mother always put too much alcohol in, so i prefer my nans* and jelly, and these jelly soaked sponges that had such a heavenly texture. xD i used to eat it so much i got a tummy ache...

  • they had instant jelly when ur grandma was young?

  • great as always :D

  • You're the best! <3

  • awesome...

  • I like the space between your blobs.

  • Titli! Titli! Can I have the sickly icing please?

  • @dctim Sure. I'll post it to you. The birds won't touch it.

  • Lol Titli! I've never seen anyone hate Mr Kipling so much... Any cakes you make yourself are so much more delicious though

  • Titli t'es une artiste Ce trifle est encore plus beau que le précédent ,meilleur ? non mais plus beau OUI !!!

  • Shookran Titly :)

  • can I use mascarpone cheese instead of creme fraiche?

  • @Alalalalala11 It's not really cream but you could use it, yes.

  • TITLI! TITLI!.. I´m from Sweden.

  • @MinMilton Hallå!

  • Oh, I love trifle and my Granny used to make it too! This is beautiful! The way some people make trifle here in the US makes me sick! Now this is the real thing. Thank you for sharing that with us!

  • cute trifle,my budgies luv watching ur vids but there were offended by your comment on da bird :(

  • I love this! Great way to decorate a trifle Titli. Never seen it done like that before!

  • One day I'm going to be an awesome cook like you :D.

  • Awesome blossom!I'm definitely gonna try it!

  • The Jelly box got some arabic letters on it .. wait a sec .. you living in ME ?

  • can i use those lady fingers sponge used in tiramisu?

  • @azielafeb3 Yes indeed-ey

  • TITLI! TITLI! TITLI! TITLI! you rock!!!!!

  • @ljy2007 Another suggestion, why not wear Titli's recipe for "raita" as a hat, as it is an anagram for "tiara". Please send photo too!!

  • You're my hero Titli! :D

  • why dont you sweeten the cream?

  • @ashram97 I am not a fan of really sweet trifles. But there is nothing stopping you adding sugar to the cream.
