There is no serious historian who can determine the origins of any of the canonized gospels. And since some of them contradict each other, there is serious doubt they have commmon sources....

One characteristic of many of the earliest extant NT texts is that they are scribal in nature (i.e. copies,not originals).

The Catholic Church is the One True Church started by Christ Himself. Peter was a beloved Apostle of Christ and Peter was and is recognized as the Prince of the Apostles and the First Supreme Pontiff. Jesus said to Peter: " Feed My lambs...Tend My sheep...Feed My sheep."
Peter died in Rome and his martyrdom came during the reign of Emperor Nero probably in 64. Saint Peter chose to be crucified upside down, as he felt he was not worthy to die like Jesus.
